I CANNOT TELL IF MY EXTENSIONS FOR NPT OR BIRT WERE PROCESSED FROM EITHER THE DISPLAY SCREEN OR THE POST EFILE LISTINGS. IT WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL IF THIS COULD BE EASILY VERIFIED.
Lacerte must do a better job of holding DocuSign responsible for the knowledge base questions used for signing 8879s. The majority of our clients cannot successfully get through the questions the first time through. Most require 2 or 3 attempts and far too many fail altogether. We hear over and over and over again from our clients that the questions have nothing to do with them. Lexus Nexus is obviously using information to derive question from databases that have inaccurate information. I aware there is the pin method as an alternative, but it is much less secure as our support staff now becomes responsible for managing client pins. The IRS requires knowledge base for identity verification, that is what we are going to use. Its the responsibility of Lacerte and DocuSign to hold Lexus Nexus accountable to derive the questions from accurate information. They cannot continue to having clients verify their identity with questions from inaccurate data sources.
SAVE US FROM THE DETROIT NONRESIDENT NIGHTMARE Detroit nonresident returns should be set either in Profile by giving us the option to add a Detroit nonresident return in the City return window or an easy check box in client data when a Detroit return is present.Currently, the torture is to make entries for dates and days worked in the W-2 local area. This is so tricky that I've been unable to get the 5119 Nonresident return to pop in. Instead, the 5118 resident return pops in.I have one other client in this situation. I looked at the entries I had for her and emulated them in this return. No luck.5121 MessThe other issue is a 5121 withholding schedule loads, and page 2 contains Part 3 that will reflect entries for nonresidents.Unfortunately, these fields are not live; if we could click on them perhaps we would get to the right spot.Need Better Help, TooHelp on this topic is useless. That needs improvement, too.I've spent at least two hours trying to resolve this mess, plus a call to support. There's no obvious fix to them either. I can't bill the client for this wasted time, since it's not his fault.HELP!
Someone needs to figure out how to get an entry on wisconsin return. Page 1 line 34 without doing an over ride.
Currently, when an item has been reviewed is updated, there is a modification checkmark for review. Some items in worksheets and statements however may disappear entirely and there is no way to consider them as checked again.E.g. An item of deduction was removed because it phased out when additonal income was reported. Now the worksheet checkmarks show up as errors and cannot be resolved. There should be an option to resolve checkmarks for items that are no longer visible on the tax return also.
Have the ability to view the full return in its entirety without needing to click each individual form and without having to credit a print to pdf to view . also the ability to view "all forms" and add to applicable for print to pdf as well
I think it would be a good idea to add a link for invoices so the customer's can add their accounting information so once the client gets invoiced they have the option to click the link and pay immdiately if they do not want to pay by refund.
Do we have any updates on when the state conformity will be completed? I am particularly interested in Idaho and Utah. Are states going to be updated as information is received by Lacerte or are we going to have to wait an extended period of time for all states that conformed to OB
Please add the ability to file superseding returns in states that allow it such as CA!If we need to file a superseding return, the process gets extremely complicated when we have to go in and e-file it for the fed but then we have to manually do it for the state. States like California allow for e-filing a superseding return, yet the program will not allow us to do this.
