Printing the entire K-1 packet with all states attached at once. Going into each state to print is time consuming.
Please incorporate the functionality of reviewing a tax return inside of ProConnect and using tickmarks to notate individual lines of the tax return.I want to be able to use tickmarks (different colors / shapes) to notate lines as I review: correct, needs attention, will change, etc. Also being able to includes comments with the tickmarks and being able to view/print a sheet of all comments, tickmarks, and the lines they affect on the return as a single document. This is crucial to efficiently review tax returns.
I am interested in better alerts to Lacerte updates before I submit an efile and get rejected. I currently check for updates before I submit my first efile of the day. Yesterday, an update came available unbeknownst to me later in the day after already having one successful efile, and my second efile was rejected. When it comes as a rejection, it can mess up the synch of federal and state filings where a state might go through and the federal is rejected. I don't use automatic updating of my software because the timing is not always convenient when I am working. Lacerte used to post an alert at the top of the screen when updates came available. Another idea is to make it part of the error and diagnostic check within efile before you hit submit.
I have a company admin who is the Chief Tax Officer in our organization as well as an owner. I have her role set to Company Admin and discovered today that she cannot access reports in ProConnect because she is not the Primary Admin. Can access to these reports be added to the Company Admin Role so this department can access stats and reports on their teams performance?
Now that interest rates are 8%, the interest on late payments can accrue quickly. If a client makes a payment after April 15th but before the return is filed (so that the penalties will stop accruing), the software doesn't account for interest from April 15th to the payment date. ProSeries shows the payment as just additional tax paid and the return bottom line on the 1040 will show a refund. But there is no refund, since interest will be charged from April 15 to the payment date. This will result in additional letters to the client adjusting the "refund" on every tax return.
The Form 990-T; Schedule A; Part V; Line 3b is a Rental Property "attach statement" line. You complete the "Explanation Statement" (in this instance, a detail of the rental property operating expenses other than Depreciation. Part V; Lines 4 & 5 are used to calculated the taxable allocation of gross rental income and expenses (by property). This % is then used to reduce the gross rent & expenses to the avg debt / avg NBV of rental property ratio. On the "Explanation Statement" there is an ALLOCABLE EXPENSE AMOUNT which is calculated, using the same ratio of Avg Debt / Avg NBV. The note on this line references it should (must) equal Part V; Line 3b.I think that reference is wrong... it should equal Line 9; Allocable Deductions. This is causing computational (or reference) errors for each property. The amounts appear to be calculated correctly (there can be rounding errors because Part V; Line 6 allows 4 decimal places... The Explanation Statement allows 3 decimal places. This has been very frustrating, especially if I am wrong in my outlook & your layout is (in your world of programming) properly done. Need some help in figuring this out.
We are about to see the average time spent on a return but can not track the time for individual returns/projects.
The recent update made input fields truncated and windows too small, view size of screen is small and hard to read. Reviewing data entry is near impossible as only 5 characters now show from what was input. It was great before, but the recent update really made it a mess. Why make the view windows so small? Why truncate fields so we can't see what is in them in the views? This happens now across the platform in various views and is super frustrating. I can't even tell what was input because the view is ridiculously truncated. I've tried to zoom in and out, and it doesn't affect the view and what is seen. Please revert back to what was there before so we can read the inputs and make the detail screens big again.
the program creates a negative number when in excess of $2 Billion. This prevents the e-filing of the various returns. Is there a way Lacerte can fix this issue? The fix would prevent having to switch to another software.
The alert box which pops up to remind you to click a box is not necessary since the box is already highlighted. Ex: W-2 input when the alert box comes up to tell you to make sure you click the box to confirm that the state withholding amount is correct.
Lacerte is generating a Critical E-file diagnostic 60174 when the entity has met the No Tax Due Threshold of revenue at or less than $2,470,000 and filing an 05-166 Affiliate form and the entity only needs to file the 05-102 and the 05-102 for the Affiliate. This prevents e-filing as TX is not accepting the 05-166 with the 05-102 Please put a check box to override or suppress the 05-166 similar to the one on screen 43.431 for the Partnership module for the 05-167.This simple fix should allow the e-filing of the 05-102 when you have an affiliate and revenue is at or below the $2,470,000 revenue No Tax Due Threshold.
When you are in a 1040 K1 entry screen, and scroll down, the heading of which k1 you are in name disappears. Please lock all of those so I keep seeing the k1 partnership return name as when names of many k1s are similar and the phone rings.... it can be very confusing. Also, when i hover on a K1 partnership name so it shows the whole thing, add after that taxpayer, spouse, or joint as married people often make investments for each of husband and wife.
When printing a partnership return, Proseries currently prints all the K-1s together, and then prints all the Basis Statements together. Like this: K-1 Partner #1, K-1 Partner #2, K-1 Partner #3, etc, followed by Basis Statement Partner #1, Basis Statement Partner #2, Basis Statement Partner #3, etc. This causes a lot of manual collating before sending the K-1s and Basis Statements out to the clients.(Okay, for 3 partners its not a lot of time, but I have a partnership with 200+ partners, and it takes a large number of hours to manually collate the K-1s and the Basis Statements together before sending them out to the partners).Suggestion: When printing a partnership return, give us the option to collate the K-1s and the Basis Statements. Like this: K-1 Partner #1, Basis Statement Partner #1, K-1 Partner #2, Basis Statement Partner #2, K-1 Partner #3, Basis Statement Partner #3, etc. This would make it so much easier to give each partner their K-1 and Basis Statement together, without doing a lot of manual collating. Thanks!
Need to be able eFile Kansas City Profits Tax "KC Form RD-108" for individuals with business profit in the MO 1040 package and also add the form for businesses in the 1120S & C and 1065 modules to have Kansas City Profits Tax and allow it to be eFiled for KC Form RD-108.This is Mandatory as of Jan 1, 2024.
