Tax Summary does not include the new Senior Deduction. We are ACCOUNTANTS and when the Tax Summary does not add up correctly, it reflects badly on the accountant!!!!
Please include option to add our logo to the client letter. It would also be nice to change the font, as the default font looks like TurboTax. (bad branding for the tax preparer)
Lacerte's web site indicates that the PA Local EIT form was released Jan 7 2026. However it is not available in the 1040 program (filing instructions and tax summary are available). This is a huge headache for our firm. If you are in the same boat, please contact Lacerte support asap. This glitch should be an easy fix. Hopefully so.
On HomeBase the Rejected tab should be the most engaging of the tabs if >0 rejects are there. The whole tab should be red or something that stands out because PS does not remind about rejects after the initial failure.
Love the software, easy to use, but had on the eyes after a while. Everything looks the same. Need color tabs and emojis to mark the spot on the return for easy reference. 😊💰👌💶🤬❤️
he problem:Form 8825 now only has a line for "real estate taxes" rather than just "taxes". The old program was better, because in the current day and age, a lot of the taxes paid for rentals is either California FTB tax $800 a year, (or more importantly, pass thru entity elective tax). Neither of these types of taxes are deductible for state tax purposes (but they are deductible for Federal). So, we need Lacerte to either:1. Add another line to the rental screen for "taxes other than real estate". Then add a new line at the bottom of the screen entitled "taxes other than real estate, state if different". 2. Or, alternatively Lacerte should finally break down and add a new column, to the right of the first column entitled "state, if different", that would apply to every single line item on the rental screen (including the "other expenses" section that you access with Control E.

The Schedule 1-A Adjustments aren't listed on the Two-Year Comp. Pretty annoying that its not because I use the two year comp as part of my review and Loom videos to clients.
Please update the summary sheet so that clients can see that the OBBB deductions have been included in the calculation.
I tried to set up electronic payment with an amended federal e-file tax return. I marked the Yes box on the third option in section IX which says, "Use Electronic Funds Withdrawal of Amended Federal Balance Due". I entered the date and amount for withdrawal in the Amended Return section. I did not enter a date or amount in the payment section above, which is for original tax returns. When I look at the client letter, there is no indication that the funds will be electronically paid. Is the letter only meant for original returns? If I also enter payment information in the original return section, will the amount due be paid twice? Who knows because the ProSeries "Expert" was unable to answer my question and couldn't get an answer from whoever she was corresponding with at ProSeries. There are no instructions on how to set up electronic payments in the How to File an Amended Tax Return instructions. I wasted almost an hour with two different "Experts" at ProSeries trying to find the answer.......what a great way to start my day.
I called Intuit on January 16 to alert that the amortization of intangible assets no longer gets carried to Form 8825 in a partnership return has it has in past years. I see the a Schedule A for Form 8825 was created this year which omitted the amortization expense. At the time I called, the Schedule A had not been finalized. It now appears that it has been finalized, but it does provide a place to bring forward and report the amortization expense. Given that this amortization is a common expense when there are loan fees that must be amortized over the life a loan, this is serious omission that in previous years has always been handled correctly by Pro Series. That my phone call was not acted upon is a serious breach.
As of now, when you import a K-1 that is a PDF, you cannot select a K-1 to import into. This is fine for new clients, but clients that already have K-1 entries in the system that have things carrying over from year to year such as tracking Partnership Basis means this import feature won't be beneficial.
When you are entering W2's, 1099's, etc, allow/enable the ability to extend/adjust the tabs along the top when you are in the "Details" sections.
In Intuit Link digital organizer can you make it so when you export the organizer (especially the questionnaire), it can be exported and downloaded as a PDF?
