I find that the auto attendant is truly a poor use of time and man power.When you call in the systems answers and goes blank for about 10 seconds. I am assuming that it is asking for my lacerte number because it than says "You can find you number bla, bla, bla". NOW after that it asks why you are calling. We would not be calling unless we are having a problem with Lacerte. TODAY it went even further by asking what area of the return or which module you are calling about. This whole thing takes about five minutes of valuable time. I understand that there are a limited number of "EXPERTS" available, but it is getting to the point that I feel that Lacerte is trying to restrict or try to make us not want to call.PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AS WE THE CUSTOMER AND STOP THIS INCREASED BLOCKING OF TRYING TO JUST COMPLETE A TAX
When CT resident property taxes are entered into screen number 53 and the taxpayer and/or spouse do not qualify for the property tax credit because of age requirement why does this not pop up as a critical diagnosis error? I have used Lacerte 20 years and CT diagnostics error always came up for age requirement and/or if they have a dependent. In 2022 program this changed why???
Please update in WV State tax software, related to SALT Tax, WV State Tax Dept. should have available by 3/4/24. Thanks
Individual tax returns need the ability to enter fiscal year end dates. Space for dates other than the calendar year are printed at the top of the Forms 1040 series, but Lacerte does not support the printing of fiscal year end dates. For individuals that are fiscal year taxpayers, the lack of dating on the form creates all kinds of IRS notices and letters regarding dates every year. It's a constant problem that could be solved by allowing the dates to be printed in the space provided by the Internal Revenue Service.
Form 8936 (Clean Vehicle Credit)Part I line 3a asks for prior year's AGI (Enter the amount from line 11 of your 2022 Form 1040, 1040-SR, or 1040-NR). Proconnect has the data, but in Underpayment Penalty (2210) area. I propose to populate the line 3a with the data. Currently, we can mark a request completed. There are two recommendations I have here:We need to be able to do this for "unmatched" items.I would like to have individual check boxes next to any request item with more than one upload. e.g. they upload four W-2s I would like to check each one off as done in case I get called away. Ideally, this would turn an indicator green as we have now for the request totals. If there are three out of four done it should show 3/4 complete.This would help us identify what's remaining to be done a lot better.
