Currently, to exclude wages on Form 2555, the W2 entry has to be made in the Form 2555 entry. This is weird and unnecessary. It also causes problems with state and local data entry that aren't available in the 2555 W2 entry. The normal W2 entry should be used, and there should be an option under "Less Common Scenarios" to include the W2 on Form 2555. This is how Schedule C and other entries work.
I Have a client that purchased tax credits in 2023 - proposed rules REG-101610-23 relative to IRC Section 6418 . Sellers have provided instructions that the credit should be identified and included on Schedule 3, line 6, letter z, then foot to line 7. Sellers (intermediary firm) have assured the purchaser that they have successfully reported the credit this way, with no push back from the IRS to date. Currently, there does not seem to be a way to get Lacerte to populate line 6, letter z. As a workaround, I was able to get a similar net effect by utilizing the letter k input fields, but clients are hesitant to proceed, since it doesn't exactly mirror the treatment that was prescribed by the seller. I'd prefer not to paper file the returns to follow this treatment, can Lacerte possibly develop an input screen that will populate the letter z line?
ProSeries did not flag errors on Form 5695 in February, and completely missed energy efficient home improvement credits for many of our clients. I contacted support to find out if I could run a report to find which of our clients' returns had been filed with Form 5695 so we can review them all, but was told that there is no way to search for returns filed with specific forms. Now, because ProSeries did not process these forms correctly at the time of e-filing, we will have to waste hours of our time (free of charge to our clients, might I add) going through hundreds of returns one-by-one to make sure that they were all processed correctly and our clients received the full refunds they were due and amending any that ProSeries did not process correctly. We are extremely frustrated by ProSeries's negligence in releasing forms before they were ready to file that is now going to cost us a lot of time.
I bought 4 returns Proconnect, but it was new for me. I already have had Proseries. the reason I bought Proconnect it was JUST for using TAX ADVISORY , and I called Proconnect to help me how to use it but no one helped me professionally as like as Proseries. So, in fact I could not use Proconnect even TAX ADVISERY. Please connect TAX ADVISERY to Proseries for next tax season Please connect TAX ADVISERY TO PROSERIES.
I'm doing a series of returns with NOL carrybacks and forwards, basis limitations in the millions, plus more. Tiffany solved my questions about why things weren't lining up, where to enter, etc. My only regret is wasting 10+ hours over a period of time trying to figure it out, and not reaching out earlier. She went into my screen, pointed things out, researched, and came up with all the tough answers. She was patient, polite, and not in a rush with her instructions. Great service.
INTUIT PROSERIES MISCELLANEOUS STATEMENT is an optional feature available in the #1040 Proseries. I have been using for many years for a client that we insert ALPHA information in the first field and NUMERIC information in the second field. Every year when we transfer the client file ONLY the ALPHA information gets transferred AND the numeric information is NOT TRANSFERRED. That numeric information SHOULD ALSO be transferred. Right now this client I have information on this particular going back to more than ten years AND every year we have to updated the numeric info. ignacio abella cpa
Can you send a list or how to we print a list and match it to a billing report for esignatures only.My esignatures are not matching what Lacerte has listed we used for 2022 tax season and I would like a report of clients that we used esignature for to match to our Lacerte program.
