how to change the overpayment from prior year on MA form 63D-ELTNew

on MA form 63D-ELT:i applied the overpayment from 2024 to 2025 and the state refunded the money instead of applying it.  How do you change the overpayment from prior year to zero?  it doesn't let you override the amount.Can the programmers change that line to be overridden?

K-1 BasisNew

Just finishing a K-1 for a partnership.  Income and expense was no problem but entering the basis was a BIG problem.   I filled out all the subsidiary worksheets and got to the basis and had to override all entries of contributions, loans, etc. that showed have flowed automatically.I called technical support and did a screen share and he couldn't come up with any answer than overriding.   It just should be easier than that when all the info was filled in.  I had to override to put in the cash contributed, loans paid in 2025 on each K-1 separately.Please consider changing the programing on this issue.

Inviting clients to the Intuit portal in batch like the client checklistNew

I spend a long-time inviting clients to the Intuit portal.  It should be a batch invite similar to the printing or emailing the Check list.  Once invited I then have to go the portal and push the invite to the client.A very long process.

PIT-ADJ line 16New

The software is calculating this incorrectly.  It should only be the total amount of the capital gains tax, NOT TO EXCEED $2500, according to the form instructions.  But it's calculating the FULL $2500.  The capital gain in this return is LESS THAN $2500, so the amount on this line should be LESS THAN $2500.

PA Prior Depreciation (179 Error)New

In 2025 Proseries 1120s, PA Depreciation is calculating incorrectly for J5/J6 type assets (maybe others as well - have not looked into it further). It is now pulling the federal 179 depreciation to the state 179 depreciation when no 179 depreciation was taken on Pennsylvania.  For J5 assets - This is causing it to not calculate current depreciation (no basis left since it is acting like 179 was taken) and have depreciation in excess of basis. This is causing me to enter 0 on state 179 depreciation. For J6 assets - This is causing it to not calculate current depreciation (no basis left since it is acting like 179 was taken) and taking out the prior depreciation. This is causing me to enter 0 on state 179 depreciation and hand key in prior depreciation information. They need to make this section pull the prior year information rather than pull information from federal.

Intuit link - allow both Taxpayer and Spouse accessNew

Clients should both have access to the tax file and be able to upload their own documents.  Spouses  complain constantly that entering the side with the Taxpayer's email and password is ackward and they don't like needing the Taxpayer to stand by to give them the access code from their phone.  Both should have full access on their own.

Change an email in Intuit link after an invite has already been sentNew

The process to un-invite and re-invite a client erase all the documents needed to complete their tax return.  Clients change work and personal email all the time.  To correct this, I have to delete the client in 2025.  Go to 2024, and add their email to Organizer and 1040.  Transfer the client to 2025, invite the client again to see the documents I need for them to send me.  It is alot of effort and time just to change an email address, and time is money!

Have ProSeries transfer all QBI Pass-through Entity S-Corp K-1 data to the Federal 1040 return automatically instead of manually keying data in. Statement A of the K-1 data doesn't transfer into the personal return for some reason.New

I must print the full K-1 from pass-through entities and then manually key in the Statement A - QBI Pass-through Entity Reporting data into clients 1040 returns.  Some data transfers in properly (front page of the K-1), but not the Statement A information.  It would be helpful to transfer in all data so no manual keying is needed.

Intuit Link CSV conversionNew

In Intuit Link we have two options available to obtain the client's entered information. Download Responses (.csv file)  Download All Files (.zip file) The Download Responses (.csv file) option downloads all questions and answers into Excel in a format that is unable to read, unless we reformat it.  The Excel file is impossible to read and if you try to convert the Excel file to a Word document it, too is formatted improperly.Is there a better way to get the information into a readable format?

In all applicable modules the client letter should include additional details regarding the Pass Through Entity Tax (PTE)The client letter includes the current year PTE balance due and the first installment for the next year PTE.  It should also include the second installment and the due date (12/31/20XX)so the taxpayer will get the deduction in the tax year related to the paymentsThis will save a lot of time and energy in remembering to remind clients and calling or emailing clients.  It will also help minimize missed payments and penaltiesthank you

The current preparer information setup only partially syncs across forms. Key fields—such as fax number, state(s) of registration, and state ID numbers—are missing. Maryland forms not readyNew

Maryland forms (both individual and business) are still watermarked and showing Critical Diagnostics that are creating a backlog for filing. All Maryland forms need to be expedited by the Lacerte developers so we can begin filing. We have clients questioning the hold up and it makes our firm appear incompetent and delayed. This is a recurring issue with Lacerte for many years.

Please develop Form 4547. My clients are eager to file, but I am unable to proceed due to the absence of this form. ProSeries has it, as do TaxAct and other software providers. I do not want to switch software.

Residential Clean Energy Credit on a second homeNew

The 30% credit on solar and geothermal is allowed on a second home.The Lacerte input for Form 5695 Part I does not allow for the street address of the second home on which the qualified property was installed.  Lacerte is printing the street address of the main home per page one of Form 1040; but does let you override the city, state and zip code at the top of Form 5695 Part I.Is this something Lacerte can correct in the program?  Any other advice here?Thank you

New Main home checkbox has font error on form 1040-SR.New

On the front of form 1040-SR the new box for US residencey that is in line with the Home Address line has a font error.  Instead of "Spouse's" it reads "Spouse?s".
