I know it is early so hopefully this can be fixed in the next update. Right now the tuition from the child is not transferring properly to the parent. The Dependent income is being doubled some how from the Line 68360 of form T1206  and I need to over ride this to zero so that the tuition transfer will occur.

Wife was in nursing home from Aug to Nov 2023 (passed in Nov 2023), husband claimed DTC on 2023 income tax return, did not claim nursing home expenses. On 2024 tax return he wants to claim nursing home expenses, (you cannot claim both DTC and nursing home expenses). The receipt does not breakdown salaries etc.The fact that DTC was claimed in 2023 and the nursing home expenses would be claimed in 2024 make a difference?? Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks

Profile won't allow me to e-file authorize a rep form for my new client with no first name. However it allows to eFile those returns. Please no answer like "Contact Profile support", which I already did and did not received answer yet.

Could some one please explain how does can one contribute RRSP to spouse? Where do I enter the detail for both spouses in RRSP form? Thanks very much

I'm finding Profile frustrating this year. What have programmers changed that leaves huge gaps in the letters that then end up being a two page letter? I have attempted to edit the letter with little to no results. This needs to be fixed by Profile as it does not occur to this extent in prior years. I'm definitely not new to using Profile. The program is not very stable. There are other comments referring to instability such as tabs disappearing. Most of the problems can be solved by closing the program and starting again, and just how productive is that? Anyone else having these issues? printing 2 page letters as to 1 page is not efficient use of my resources.

I have a client who passed away in 2022, his family have now brought in a T5008 which shows capital gain.Where in the T3 Trust Return do I enter it.

I have a client who is a first time home buyer. On the T1-M, it states: Cost of buying the new home: You can claim the expenses on lines 21 and 22 only if you or your spouse or common-law partner sold the old home because of the move.Does this mean that if you didn't have an old home to sell, you can not claim legal costs for buying your home? Or does it mean that if you had an old home to sell, but didn't sell it, then you couldn't claim legal costs on the purchase of the new home? Thanks

For some strange reason my 2024 tax return will not print a T183. I can print all other forms with no issues. I just tried 2023 and the same thing. what is so special about printing the T183? This latest update has created strange things, like F4 form selection in 2023 is blank, my receipt numbers are not posting.

Effective for the 2024 tax year, electronic filers will be able to submit T1 income tax and benefit returns through EFILE for deemed residents of Canada filing under section 250 of the Income Tax Act (some exclusions apply).”To confirm if your software supports these return types, visit the detailed information page by clicking on the name of the company for your software product at the following website: EFILE certified software for the 2024 EFILE program. I am not being allowed the option to efile these returns? Is it a software issue as CRA says it's ok to do this?  Still says it should be paper filed?

Regarding the filing of T slips (T5s specifically).... I have about a dozen slips that simply will not file.  I have whittled that down from about 2 dozen, using 'different methods and combinations of filer/account numbers'.  But no matter what I try on these ones, I still get error messages about filer number doesn't match what I signed in with.   Last year (and previously) I could just log in to our own business account, and file slips for any company.  Now, that still works for some, and sometimes logging in to rep a client and either going to the individual company's file or, again, to our company file will work.....but not for all.  And depending on what day I try it, it either does or doesn't work. This is most annoying.  Who does the blame lie with?  CRA or Profile?   If anyone can give me a definitive answer on this, I'd love to try to resolve this.

The client letter does not indicate if the newcomer is entitled to GST or Trillium or Carbon tax credit. How can I change it. A husband is living here for few years, wife came in June 2024. They both have low income and both should be entitled to a combined benefits but the joint letter only shows the husband's trillium, CCR and GST amounts as if he was single.

I am getting CRA Result Code: 184 for all new immigrants stating:"352 : Line 58040 on the provincial or territorial Form 428 for the basic personal amount does not equal to the maximumallowable:1. If the amount is prorated due to immigrant status, a date of entry into Canada is required.2. If the amount is prorated due to emigrant status, a date of departure from Canada is required."Entry date has been put in, Prorate tax credis has been ticked off, basic personal amount shows amount as prorated. Don't know what else to do.  Anyone has this problem with new immigrants?  Any solutions?

I've used Profile for 30+ years, and this is the first year this has happened.  I have two stations I work from, and this year, if I create a file on computer A, save it to my server (as always) then try to open it from Computer B, it only allows me to open it as "read-only". Through my searches, it was recommended that I try changing the security authorizations on the actual file itself (eg file explorer, properties, security, edit...) but it refuses to accept "all" as an option.  Further, if I look at files I created last year and earlier, they are all file protected in the exact same way, but I am still able to open them on either of my computers.  The help folks are nice and they try hard, but honestly, this is something that only happened this year, so it's a tech thing and I've only so many hours I can stay on the phone and chat lines while they talk amongst themselves - I've a tax business to run.  Anyone else have the issue and have any idea how to

this year's form no longer seems to have the option of cancelling all representatives?
