We have the option of printing Signature Forms to SmartVault from Home Base under the file menu. It would be great if they would save as "Signature Forms" instead of "Government Copy." As it is, I have to rename them Signature Forms so I can actually print a Government copy. Otherwise, my actual "Government Copy" overwrites the Signature Forms.
I completely understand that the idiocy of NY State is not Intuit's fault. But you have more clout than we do, so please get NYS Tax to make these changes:Eliminate the prohibition on carrying over driver's license info for taxpayer and spouse. As it is in every other state, Proconnect (all your products) warn us if a license expired and prevents e-filng. The idea we have to re-enter this data for every NY return is ridiculous.Eliminate the NY requirement to re-enter checking routing and account numbers. As with other states, we should only have to enter this if different. No NY Tax Pro I know actually keys it in again. We all copy and paste it - so if it's wrong on the Federal it's wrong on NY.Eliminate the ID requirement on an extension. Who cares? NY can get the ID from us when we do the return. If it's good enough for IRS to take an extension without ID, it should be good for NY. This should be especially true of seasoned NY preparers. I've been preparing returns for 35 years with NY and e-filing since the earliest e-filing days. They know I know my clients.Get rid of the brand new really nutty requirement that we include the driver's license info for a spouse on a Married Separate return. Heck, if they're separated it's not likely that the spouse is rushing to cough up their license. The "did not provide option" won't kill the NY critical error - only marking that the spouse doesn't have a license quiets the error. So they're encouraging a lie when the separated spouse isn't in the mood to share license info. All four of these are absolute time killers. A complete waste. And if NY won't cooperate - who knows with them - then make a default setting that satisfies them on 1 to 3 above, that we can override in preferences. We need this yesterday!!! Thank you!
We need to save e-file dashboard settings. Every time I go into e-file dashboard I have to click a couple times to sort by date descending so I can see the latest activity. This is a waste of time and extra clicks. Either it should remember my last setting or let me save a preference so that it's always in descending date order.
Please add feature to suppress the Tax ID number on business tax returns.
CA LLC In Pro Series 2023 Generated a Refund but no place to put Direct Deposit Information only Paper Check?
We need a few enhancements to Pro Intuit Link: We should be able to edit requests without being forced to press the Continue and send the email. Right now, if you don't send it, the edits are lost. A perfect example is a new client coming in with two or three years of returns. I want to add and edit the prior year requests without having to send an email for each year.I've mentioned before that all emails that go out through Pro Intuit Link should be stored and visible. It would also be ideal to be able to connect our email account clients to see messages sent from Pro Intuit Link. It would be ideal to use our mail client and see emails back and forth Pro Intuit Link.
Feb 9, 2024I have the hosted product. Today I chose the 2-factor authentication function in my AppHub dashboard and followed the instructions to add my phone. I was asked to download the Duo mobile app. At that time, I learned that Duo app does not support older Android OS (mine is 9.)NOW I AM LOCKED OUT OF THE HOSTED PRODUCT!I need account recovery to be able to get back in! (I had to add my DL just to start account recovery. Gone is my feeling of being safe from hacks.) @1569 It is very important to add a notice PRIOR to enrolling about the required OS versions for Android and iOS for Apple. This will alert users to check their phones and avoid lock outs.
In the Partnership Module (and may be others), there is an override diagnostic that says, "An override entry of 1 has been made in Texas "Bad Debt Expense (O)" (Screen 43.431, Code 44)". This diagnostic when you click on it takes you to Screen 43.431 in the Previous year tax due box with 1 = less than $10,000 indicting what the prior year tax due was as Texas requires returns to have payments electronically filed if the prior year payments were over $10,000 in the prior year. This has nothing to do with Bad Debt Expense as the diagnostic indicates, so the wording of the diagnostic needs changing. This was also in the 2022 program and maybe 2021.
The Option to suppress SSNs has no effect on the tax return. I was told by support that each time I print I have to check a box. There is no global option to suppress printing of SSN, so the Option selection doesn't do what it says it is going to do. Please
WHY DOESN'T THE OVER PAYMENT ON THE SALT PARITY CARRYOVER TO THE NEXT YEAR AUTOMATICALLY.
It would be very helpful if you make a worksheet that tied out foreign taxable income and the taxes with held. It is time consuming to make a separate schedule. Also a worksheet to tie out when 1099D transactions (covered) go directly to Sch D.The more worksheets the better
It would be helpful to have a public roadmap of what future improvements Intuit is working on. Are the top tax idea exchange topics being worked on? What should we expect (or, more importantly, NOT EXPECT) from Intuit/Lacerte in the future?
At the home base, you can sort by client number but it sorts 1,10,100 not 1,2,3,4,5. This would be very helpful to have. We have to do a separate spreadsheet to track so we can sort by client number. Please Please let it sort numerically this is simple but would be so it is helpful!
