The dam file locks before you can file the NJ PTE. THE NJ PTE Has to be filed separately. LIKE LACERTE YOU NEED TO ALLOW PRACTITIONERS TO LOCK AND RELOCK RETURNS PLEASE
1. When a tax return is rejected due to a dependent SSN already being filed, tell me which one. Don't make me have to chat in to find out. Literally every other tax program in existence, both professional and consumer tell you which one is causing the reject. 2. A bit more localized, but ProConnect requires RD-108 (Kansas City Profits Return) to be filed separately from the rest of the 1040. No idea why, it makes no sense. I have to e-file the federal and state return, then go back into the return, unlock it, then file the city return by itself. I have use terrible programs like CrossLink, mid-ranged programs like Drake, and expensive programs like UltraTax and all of them filed the RD-108 with the federal and state. None of them required the extra work of going back in and filing it separately. 3. Not really a "feature" but on the W2, put all of the state info together. You enter in the state withholdings in one spot, then scroll down a lot to enter in the State name and ID. Then there is an override spot for state wages, income, and tax withheld. It's confusing and weird. Why are there 2 spots to enter boxes 16-19 on the state?
I do not like your Invoicing in the client file. Each time, we have to put the tax forms used and the price next to it. It should do that automatically. Some times I spend more that 10 minutes going back and forth to see what forms I should charge for any particular client.
WHY MUST I SEND WATERMARKED RETURNS WITH DOCUSIGN!!! MY CLIENTS WANT NON WATERMARKED TAX RETURNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am colorblind, I see color, just not all shades.Your helpful coloring of an entry box outline to what your tech Justin said he sees as green, I cannot see as green. I see it is darker than other outline boxes. Could you make the outline font notably thicker, like you can in excel? Regardless of colorblindness, that sleek look isn't as helpfully in a quick view as a thicker box outline. Unless you have different colors you are coloring boxes to mean different things, the color does not matter. If you are however, please consult some official colorblindness foundation for colors to use that we can see. It is the shade of the color, not that we cannot see color. So you just need to avoid the shades we cannot. I use "we" freely here as I do not really know the spectrum of colorblindness issues. This was seen on the 1040 K1 carryovers listed under the Basis tab for a certain K1.Thank you!Robert Mullins
This one is frequently missed within our office. We prepare that form for any one that has life insurance premiums (m-1 deduction) even if they aren't required to prepare that form. Can there be a box that this form on the appropriate entry screen that is forced every year? Even if the numbers from last year on this form rolled over would be great and not necessarily a box. I know its not a form that bold and wouldn't carryover the prior year information.
The federal balance sheet does not completely transfer to the New Jersey 1120 and 1120S
Lacerte should generate a worksheet showing the calculation for New Jersey depreciation Form GIT-DEP, Part II Column K.
Stop charging for EIN corrections on forms. It should be included in your program. Avoiding Duplicate Pay-Per-Return (PPR) charges (intuit.com)
I find myself checking the box for "Electronic payment of balance due" and entering the tax deadline date on every return. I don't know whether they'll owe, but I like it out of the way.We should have default options:Direct deposit of refundDirect debit of amounts due and a default date we enter like "tax due date"Assigned to - the prepare name - I put this in a previous suggestionPrint preparer name on returnOur choice for the presidential campaign These defaults should also have an option to select for only new returns or select for all returns. While I'm on direct deposit entries, why do we check a box for a Federal refund ("Direct deposit of federal refund") but NY returns require a 1 to be entered instead of another check box? This list isn't meant to be exhaustive. The idea is to avoid having to enter the same stuff on multiple returns.
