Is there a way to carryover client billing from previous year and have it flag if there is a past due amount when we open their fileIt would be nice to catch anyone who did not pay last year before we move forward with this year.
ProSeries Iowa Tax Module Iowa tax form: IA 123 Net Operating Loss Schedule 41-123 IDOR link: https://tax.iowa.gov/sites/default/files/2021-12/IA123%2841123%29.pdf Iowa did not follow the 2017, nor the 2020 Federal Tax Acts. Iowa has gone it's own way on NOLs and does not follow the Federal NOL law. IMPORTANT: IA 123 is used to make the irrevocable Iowa NOL election to carry forward or to carry back the IA NOL. This election must be made on a timely filed Iowa return. IA 123 is also used to compute NOL amounts created and used for each year. IA 123 is needed to e-file Iowa NOL returns. IA 123 is a pretty straight-forward two-page tax form/schedule. IA 123 addition to Iowa tax forms is a need, not a want.
Line 5 is missing the Excess Advance Premium Tax Credit.I saw this because my client will not have the EAPTC in 2022. With an input of -1 in Code 98 of Screen 7.1, Line 6 is 4,668, which is correct.@1569 I think this belongs in the Tax Idea Exchange because it indicates a software glitch. Unrelated, if you know why LC allows a blank 3rd Quarter Estimated Tax Voucher for California, please share.
I would like to see a "to do" diagnostic for missing items that were input in the prior year. For example, say a client had student loan interest or a 1099-R for early retirement distributions and I had NOT input those items in the current year, the software would prompt me in the diagnostic screen to show those items as "to do's." This would alert me that I might be missing items in the return that I had last year. This will help errors be caught before being filed and avoid mistakes and filing amended returns.
1. The "Add/Edit Notes" (i.e., the pencil) in ProSeries....can you make the note box a little bit larger? I don't even need text formatting. I just need a bigger box to type in.2. Form 1065, Schedule M-2....can we get a toggle switch (a check box) to identify where the beginning balance is to come from (i.e., Schedule L or prior year) for those of us presenting GAAP basis in our Schedule L?3. Calculation Mismatches: When a field takes a number from another field in the return but that field will also let you enter your own number if you wish (i.e., to effectively override the program without truly overriding the field via "control D") can the field change color to inform the preparer that by deleting the existing amount they have entered, the field will repopulate on its own with an updated amount chosen by ProSeries? [In short, we've all deleted a number that we thought we entered correctly or thought needed to be entered in a field, only to delete it and then find out that ProSeries had a different number in mind. Either method should be acceptable, but it would be helpful to know if there is an inherent error.....so that we know....and not just the taxing authorities after the return has been filed.]4. MA Form 3, Schedule M-1 (I know, I'm getting provincial, my apologies)....can you include a check box so that the Federal M-1 populates in the MA Form 3 even if a Federal M-3 is filed?5. 5227..... Thank you.
Please give a "Print for Mailing" option that allows us to select any and all forms needed for a paper-filed return. Include states and federal copies for state returns. The current "partial print" section is very limited.
Although client can upload documents from a web browser, it would probably be more user friendly if Intuit Link had an app.
The Georgia form 500 schedule 3 has a computation error. When you view the schedule 3 on the print preview screen column A minus Column B should equal Column 3 but in some situations it doe not. In particular line 4 and Line 5 of schedule 3 column A minus Column B does not add or substract to equal column C unless you manually manipulate the Inc/Ret worksheet in the program. If this calculation is wrong then Georgia Dept. of Revenue will just delete the schedule 3 all together and your return will be incorrect. Line 4 other income (loss) on schedule 3 from a S corporation was my issue where I directly inputted the Correct S corporation income from Georgia on Inc/Ret Wks on Georgia Column A line 6A. The return was correct but The Schedule 3 was not computing the math for column A B & C Line 4 and 5 correctly.Again Georgia Dept. of Revenue rejected Schedule 3 entirely.
My understanding is that you need to download files and then upload them to shared files in Intuit Link in order for client to gain access to them via the client portal. Is this correct? If so, can intuit please add a feature that allows tax preparers to automatically share tax returns with clients in Intuit Link when e-filing? Also, is there a way to share other documents without having to upload them twice or download and then upload to shared documents? There should be a share button/option for all firm documents (see attached image).
We would love to be able to query our returns to compile downloadable lists of subsets of clients based on forms or other data in their return. For example, if there is a law change in CA, it'd be nice to run a report for all CA clients. Or to set-up estimates reminders in our system, to be able to pull a report for all clients' with a 1040-ES populated in the return. Thanks for your consideration.
In the individual module, the Basis Computation for the partnership activity has 2 errors that could easily be fixed:1) Federal basis is not reduced by 13W deductions if put in the portfolio expense {CA only} (screen 20 code 226) - I have to enter as an adjustment to basis then add back for CA purposes2) CA is getting reduced twice by foreign taxes paid - once from the foreign tax input and then again in nondeductible expenses reported on CA K1 line 18c (screen 20 code 359) I have to add back to CA basis due to the double entry.
