While I can add to my display seeing which clients owe a federal balance or have estimates, it would be EXTREMELY helpful to have a display option to see which clients are enrolled for auto-withdraw. Numerous clients have called after receiving an IRS letter that claims they did not pay when their client letter says their balances were to be auto-withdrawn from their accounts. By allowing preparers and back office staff members a way to see this displayed,  we can stay on the same page a

As we approach the 6-15 deadline for our pass-through entities, I tried to add a column to my display showing ow much CA PTE tax was due for each entity.  No such luck!  Not available to add to my display.  This would be very helpful to see on my display.

Form 3804-CR fiduciaries override Part II, line 4New

There is an issue with the Form 3804-CR handling of the California PTEE.  I have multiple trusts that have had California PTEE credits passed form partnerships to the trust and the credits will then passthrough to the beneficiaries via K-1.  However, the current Lacerte version does not deduct the amount of the credit passed out to the beneficiaries from the amount carried over to future years for the trust.  This is wrong and would incorrectly carry over more credit than available.  The software allows me to add the credit amount to the K-1 via a note, but does not allow me to override the reduced credit amount (listed on Part II, line 4) to correct the carryover amount to 2022.I just need the ability to override to get the returns correctly prepared as my clients are antsy and this has been going on for months.I have submitted various requests previously and gotten nowhere and was told to come here for relief. Previous Lacerte service requests: 15841505031583369136158336379115826870361582678115

Many business returns ask for the officer, their phone number and email address on the information worksheet.  This input however does not automatically pull to 8879's and other state forms where it is requested requiring the Preparer to enter the info a second and sometimes a third or fourth time.  Why?  this should be easy coding to pull from the info worksheet.

When restoring client files, it would be nice to have a progress bar rather than a spinning circle.Also, please fix it so we don't have to go manually add states and then run the whole restore again.  Maybe add the ability to add states in the restore window?  Or make a list of files that didn't restore and states that need added?  Something to make these calls less painful

Your diagnostics do not allow me to e-file a 1040X unless the original was e-filed and accepted.What do you do when the original was e-filed and accepted but was prepared by another preparer?New York State accepts e-filed New York State amended returns even if another preparer e-filed the original.I do not understand why there is a diagnostic preventing me from e-filing an amended return if it was  e-filed and accepted by IRS.I cannot find anything on the IRS website that says a 1040X must be prepared by the original preparer of the 1040 in order to be eligible to be e-filed.Please advise.Thank you

ProSeries used to have this option, unknown why it was replaced with their own selections.  We used to have the capability of customizing our own selection of  commonly-used forms and worksheets. Streamlined it to cover a good number of my basic clients; faster access, more productive.Maybe a tax pro wants a direct one-click to Keogh/SEP/etc worksheet, IRA contributions; student loan interest; maybe you don't need K1s in your common list or want Sch F in there.  Maybe you'd like to have the tax planner within quick access.Allow us to determine what forms we commonly use.  😁

ProSeries requires updates before allowing e-file conversion, but there are no updates to apply. When trying to convert efiles to transmit ProSeries will not create the efiles because it says ProSeries is not currently the most current version. This requires the transmitter to exit ProSeries and check for updates. No updates are found and the transmitter loads ProSeries and is now able to covert and transmit efiles even though ProSeries is at the same version as it was when the error message originally appeared.

Some states like PA, you go to the information worksheet to activate the amended return.  Do this for all states so there is consistency on how to activate the amended returns.  This would make it quicker and easier to get started with the amended return.

I have found that the financial data file conversion left a lot to be desired.  If any of your clients have significant number of trades throughout the year it may be easier to upload the data if ProSeries Professional will allow us to input the file as an Excel spreadsheet.
