States are more complicated each year because of the many adjustments (e.g. bonus depreciation.) The multi-state summary needs list of all activities. It is very difficult to reconcile my calculation with the Lacerte multi-state summary. Snip shows one amount. I don't know where the detail can be found.
I know there is a download of the questions/resonses & comments in Intuit link in CSV format, can you create an option to download in a PDF format as well.
Pamela is a very patient and wise troubleshooter. I learned a lot about the manager credentials and how to reset the program if needed.
I have prepared a client's return twice now (2023 and 2024) and both times Lacerte's only solution to the CRITICAL diagnostics asking for the grantees' addresses when the IRS instructions do not require such addresses when the grant is equal to or less than $5,000 are:1) Provide addresses that are not required by the IRS (they are grants under $5,000) publicly on the Secretary of State's page. (The grantees are victims of domestic violence who are hiding from their abusers.) Or to,2) Override critical diagnostics via the "disable e-file error" program. Really? Lacerte does not have a way to do the return correctly? This is the SECOND year I was told that the program is not able to differentiate grants under $5,000 and that 1 and 2 above are the only solutions.
Dear Lacerte,I am now in the process of amending several tax returns becuase your dumbass software does not proforma the 8996 form showing all the investments in QOF's. Why the heck would you not proforma this???? IT IS A REQUIREMENT BY THE IRS TO INCLUDE THIS FORM ANNUALLY. If you are going to make me type up ALL the past years of investments, why aren't you doing this with depreciation or any other form that has multiple years of information that has to be reported.
After at least 4 or 5 calls to Lacerte no representative had an answer as to why the SCorp RI Schedule K1 2023 was not populating as PTE tax paid on the RI resident RI-1040 Schedule W as RI-1099E with code E. I and the multiply representatives could only get the program to populate as P from the RI- K1 form detail entry screen. My client had a RI Sch K-1 for 2023 issued by a SCorp. On the K-1 section II line 3 completed for $2,250, section III line 7 entry of $3,000; and section VI, RI-PTE Pass thru Entity Election information, completed with line 2 entered as $2,082. As well a 2023 RI-1099E attached to the RI K1with box 9 as zero, box 10 $2,250, and box 11 for the $2,082 which was paid by the RI SCorp on the taxpayer/shareholder's behalf. What am I and the multiply Lacerte reps missing????? Or is this a program error!?!?!?!?!
Why are flagged fields hard to see on the input fields? They are no longer red and impossible to find. I just see three dots. It was fine how it was before the last update. Please revert back to how it was so we can SEE what fields are flagged on the input screen.
