Please add a Two Year Comparison for Schedule F. I've been asking for 20 years. This is a business form just like Schedule C and Schedule E and deserves a two year comparison! I don't understand why there isn't one already.
With the IRS going to electronic payments, Lacerte needs to add the ability to submit Kansas estimated tax payments with the filing of the return like it does for the IRS estimated tax payments.
I am a new user to Lacerte converting from UltraTax. To my shock and indeed horror I just found out that Lacerte does not perform electronic payment of Individual Kansas estimated tax payments. UltraTax did perform electronic payment of Individual Kansas estimated tax payments. I am herein pleading with Lacerte management and programming staff to implement this change ASAP. Briefly, I prepare about 280 individual income tax returns. At most I have maybe 10 such clients who will remember to make their KS estimated tax payments when I provide them with vouchers and instructions. The rest of my clients just forget it about and then they are aghast when it comes filing time and they realize how much KS income tax they owe. At this point it is probably too late for me to back out of my Lacerte subscription, but if I had known this in advance it would have been a deal breaker for me. The same is true of every other state and jurisdiction - any that allow electronic payment of balances due, extension, and estimates should be fully automated in Lacerte and any other competitive income tax preparation software. HELP!!!!!
PLEASE consider including the Tax Bracket Worksheet at the bottom of the Federal Income Tax Summary so it will print for all clients. I have so many clients asking about how their federal tax is calculated, what is an effective tax rate and marginal tax rate. This would great to include for all clients. I do not include "Worksheets" with client return copies because it makes for too long of a copy for which many clients do not even read these details. At least can you configure the program for preparers to have the option in settings to include in client copy would be great. Thank you.
Why isn't SSA 1099 not included as part of the other documents that can be imported? Please add this form to the list. Thank you.
This needs to be done. I saw that there was a post in 2023 and then it was put to a vote. This isn't something that needs to be voted on. This is an actual federal form that the system should have. Too many companies require this for loans, etc. Being able to pull an email confirmation letter means nothing when those can be created manually. I have never worked in a tax software that didn't have this form....including online softwares...including Turbo Tax. This should be embarrassing for ProConnect to not have this form within their system.
Ability to have a brokerage statement input screen that you can enter all the data from the brokerage statement on screen and the system carry it to the correct forms.
he problem:Form 8825 now only has a line for "real estate taxes" rather than just "taxes". The old program was better, because in the current day and age, a lot of the taxes paid for rentals is either California FTB tax $800 a year, (or more importantly, pass thru entity elective tax). Neither of these types of taxes are deductible for state tax purposes (but they are deductible for Federal). So, we need Lacerte to either:1. Add another line to the rental screen for "taxes other than real estate". Then add a new line at the bottom of the screen entitled "taxes other than real estate, state if different". 2. Or, alternatively Lacerte should finally break down and add a new column, to the right of the first column entitled "state, if different", that would apply to every single line item on the rental screen (including the "other expenses" section that you access with Control E.
along with the 8879s there should be a docusign for bank account verification . Especially since paper refund checks are going away. We should have the client verify the bank accountinformation entered is correct.
