When will the 1040NR allow efiling for all states other than CA and NY?

NY and CA are already allowed to efile from the non resident module, why can't they allow all other states?

None of us know.

Can you create a 1040 file and do the state(s) from it?

The more I know the more I don’t know.

I have not tried but it would be like double the data entry work which is difficult during a busy tax season.

Currently we have to manually just mail them in.

The market for software that can prepare 160 million 1040 returns a year means that costs are lower because sales volumes are high.  

If Intuit wants to serve the market for 1.2 million 1040-NR returns, more than they already do, I hope they do so at an additional cost for the 1% of practitioners who might use it, rather than passing along the cost to all of us.

    @BobKamman  As Intuit does with Lacerte, which does allow states with 1040-NR.
