TP has multiple K-1's. It would be helpful if there was a way to sort them after they have been entered.
Customer would like to suggest that we include the 1099-NEC with the Quick Employer Forms.
On Line 5 of Form 8867, why not just add a drop down list of common supporting documentation that we rely on for the record retention requirement. Examples of what would be included on the drop down list (INSTEAD OF ME HAVING TO TYPE THIS IN EVERY YEAR!!!!): *Contemporaneous meeting/email/phone call with client to confirm eligibility*social security card*IRS Form 1099-Q*Tax Org Worksheet*birth certificate*IRS Form 1098-Tetc. Why do I have to waste time typing these on each return - just give me a quick drop down list to pick from??!!
The (new) 2020 Sched D input worksheet now requires the preparer to enter an adjustment when the cost basis shown on the Form 1099-B is not correct. In the 2019 software, you simply had to enter the corrected cost basis. But now, the 2020 software requires the preparer to literally calculate the adjustment needed (read: a waste of my time) and then enter the adjustment amount on the Sched D worksheet. Another case of Intuit's "change happy" culture. Because of this unnecessary change, it now also opens up the possibility of me making a calculation error. If I can just enter the corrected basis amount, it removes the risk of making a calculation erro. Typical Intuit policy. Something works just fine....so let's change it and make it more difficult!
Currently, there are data fields in ProSeries that turn red, indicating that an entry is required. A preparer may not have the answer at that time and would like to link to the field, so a "missing client info" reminder entry is created. For some red fields, a link can not be created. A common example is the "Virtual Currency which needs to be asked of every client, but ProSeries does not allow linking.I suggest that any field be allowed to link to "missing client info," If that is not possible, then any field that turns red because it is missing an entry should be linkable.
We can print or view Federal efile status, payment and acknowledgment information. Please add this same functionality for states.
There should be way to enter the figures in the Functional Currency for the Form 5471 Balance Sheet beginning and end of year. There should also be a place to enter the Foreign Exchange Rates for or beginning and end of year. The program should calculate the US$ figures. This is the way Lacerte works the Form 5471 Balance Sheet. (Currently, Proseries requires us to manually calculate and enter US$ figures.)
