OMG!  What fantastic service and patience all of your technicians have and especially Sierra today who made sure all my workstations were up and running for 2022!!!  We got disconnected a couple of times and while I would have normally lost hope of ever getting the same technician she wasted no time in calling me back immediately!  Now that is fantastic customer service!!!!  I am so thankful that I got three wonderful technicians back to back and was able to finish all my issues with her sincere dedication to seeing the job done to it's completion (my satisfaction)!!!!!   Thank you Sierra for your professional service, attitude and dedication to your customers!  I will be singing many praises of Lacerte!  Hats off to Jamie last night for helping me as well!!!

Proseries should shake hands with password manager programsNew

We are being forced to change our passwords periodically.  I understand the need for that.  However, because of the need for complex passwords, we are forced to either tape our password to our monitor or save it in a text file on desktop.  Kind of defeats the purpose, right?If the program could "shake hands" with password manager programs such as Norton, it would make our lives so much easier and our programs so much more secure.

Mail Labels need to print Entity Name Line #2 in Fiduciary programNew

LACERTE ENGINEERS - PLEASE FIX THIS: Specifically in the Fiduciary program, many trust names are long and need Entity Name (Line 1) and Entity Name Line 2 input.  However, only Entity Name (Line #1) prints on the Mail Labels.  There is no Mail Label option under "Customize" Print Database Reports.  Mail Labels are "Predefined and cannot be modified" - so there is no way to add the Entity Name Line 2 to the Mail Labels even though the Entity Name Line 2 is a data entry field and does print on the tax return.  The Mail Label function is useless in the Fiduciary program for half of my Fiduciary clients.  (same issue exists for printing Partnership dba line on the Partnership program Mail Labels, not as critical here as it is for Fiduciary)

NC amended Form D-407 page 2 doesn't print description of reason for amendingNew

When amending North Carolina Form D-407, the explanatory description on the bottom half of page 2 does not print even when it's keyed in on the entry screen. Support's only suggested solution is to "hand write it in" which is not an acceptable fix. Please correct the software so that the explanatory information populates on the printed copy of Form D-407.

In Tax Planner, I have plans for clients A, B & C. I create a report for A. The report appears in all three plans. Then I have to spend time deleting the report from B & C. I spoke to your staff about this yesterday.

eSignature fatal flawNew

****ATTENTION INTUIT DEVELOPMENT TEAM****You have a fatal flaw in the eSignature service powered by Docusign.  Others may be aware of this, but we just discovered that no record of the correspondence that is sent to a client via e-mail is maintained in your system, nor is provided to a Lacerte user.  This is a major problem as it virtually prohibits a user from maintaining a complete and accurate record of correspondence sent to a client.  In speaking with technical support today they confirmed this shortcoming, and per their communication with the development team, this is a known issue.  What is your plan to correct?  This is a fatal flaw that will keep our firm, and my guess is many others, from using eSignature going forward as it prohibits our ability to effectively manage and maintain a complete record of client correspondence.

Calendar grid error message when changing to day or week view from monthNew

When your calendar in Lacerte crashes when you switch to week or day view, your problem is probably with the grid for the column widths in the program. To fix this error message, open the calendar on a landscape mode and make it full screen. Then change to week view. The program will reset and you can open the week or daily view as before in a smaller window. The program must automatically reset the auto-format size.

Lacerte's handling IRS e-file shutdown individual vs businessNew

When the IRS shutdown e-filing for individuals, Lacerte bounces returns and tells us we have to hold them until IRS opens up again.  When the IRS shuts down e-filing for business, Lacerte says we can continue to send over the returns and they will hold them until the IRS opens up again.  Why two different systems?  Why not allow us to send over all the returns that are going to be e-filed?  They sit in Lacerte's computer.  If I have to do it, chances are one could get overlooked and not filed.

An "SA FIELD" next to the 754 & 743 check box on the Asset Entry Wks would allocate the depr for that asset to the affected partner. That "SA Field" is missing. Please add it.

Oregon Schedule OR-PTE-FY for 2020 correctionNew

I am requesting Lacerte fix an issue to 2020 Lacerte for allowing Schedule OR-PTE-FY to be forced for amended returns..  This option is available for 2021 and 2022.The issue is for amended tax returns OR-PTE-FY is required if  the form was used with the original Return if the original filing deadline including extension has passed. This applies even if the tax calculation is higher by using the schedule. I have has two contacts with Lacerte support.  I was told that I just need to file an amended paper return.  I would have no problem with that but since Oregon Department of Revenue reads the bar codes even on amended return this would involve filing out my own forms and not use the forms printed from Lacerte.  This is big issue for me I have many clients this will affect and will cause an great deal of effort to do manually.   Can Lacerte please update 2020 to have the option to force Oregon Schedule OR-PTE 2020 for amended returns?  This has been done for 2021 and 2022 already.  I cannot be the only one with this issue.

Proforma - Transfer all my clients for all my modules at once - problemNew

Hi Lacerte Team,I love the idea of transferring all of my clients for all of my modules at once, BUT, it transfers every client in the old program, not just FINAL clients.  I tried selecting just the FINAL clients or filtering just the FINAL clients and it still selects all of the Proforma, Info Pending and other Status's I use.An option to choose all or filter Client Status would be great.Thanks,RR

List PO Box as tax firm addressNew

I was told the physical address must be printed on a tax return as it is stated with the IRS. However, on the IRS summary application, it lists both physical address and mailing address. On the dashboard of my intuit account, there is a place to update your mailing address, but that is misleading.  I updated my mailing to a PO Box and Intuit would not accept this.  It defaults to physical address.  If both IRS and Intuit have the physical address and can still determine the location of EFIN, why is a tax firm not able to print mailing address on tax returns? At least have the option to use mailing address.

More Consolidated State ReturnsNew

Please add more states to the consolidated C Corporation.  I can produce more state returns (as paper file) for consolidated in ProSeries (which doesn't support consolidated returns) than I can in Lacerte.  I would think that Lacerte should at a minimum have at least all the same states as ProSeries plus efile features with it being able to handle more complex returns.

What If Worksheet for the various statesNew

When working with various clients, I utilize the Federal "What If" worksheet to give them a quick reference on tax situations that may occur in the current year or the following year.  But, the states, I have to go in and manually do a workup to complete the picture for them.  Is it possible to incorporate the "What If" worksheet for the states as well.

Can you please get the Statement A info from the Schedule K-1 and Sh Basis Wks to transfer over with the K-1 import process?   Everything else transfers, but those pieces of info and it causes a lot of extra work

Sort W-2 and 1099-NEC WksNew

Many of my clients have a dozen or more W-2s or 1099-NECs.  It would be super helpful if we could sort those alphabetically on the left hand side under "Forms in Use".  Something similar to the "sort data in Table" function for Cash Charitable contributions on Schedule A would be great.

Engagement Letters for CA SMLLCNew

We need a keyword to print engagement letters for CA SMLLC returns. They are being filed within individual returns but are completely separate entities, and currently, there is no way to print engagement letters with the keywords for the name of the SMLLCS. In Lacerte the SMLLCs are under Business 1, Business 2, Business 3, and so on, depending on how many they are.Thanks!

Maryland electronic filing for fiduciary returnNew

Most of the other software companies have submitted approval for the electronic filing of the Maryland Fiduciary Return Form 504. Proseries is not on the list and I would like to know why it is not on the list. Could you please try to obtain approval for the software? They are processing approvals now.

Schedule K-2 & Schedule K-3 - Pull-down List of Countries - Please put United States at top of pull-down lisNew

Almost every line of the Schedule K2 & Schedule K3 on the S-Corporation (1120-S) and Partnership (1065) have a pull-down menu point-and-select/click the country from an alphabetical list of over 100 countries. The United States is near the bottom. Please put United States at the top of the list, as that is the country most of us will be using 100% of the time, leaving it in its normal alphabetical order, also. Please make this change on both the 1120-S and 1065 modules.
