Proseries renewal invoice increased by 40%

I recently received my 2025 ProSeries renewal invoice that showed a 40% increase from tax year 2024.  I have called 4 times asking the question - why did it increase by 40%?  There is no change in the products.

The customer support is just awful and nobody seems able to answer.  I just want a response so that I have enough time to evaluate other tax products.

Has anyone else had this issue?

"Some of us were much less polite than that."

And yet, I am the one with the most time logged in at the principal's office

What are your ratings of your tax product?  I took the AICPA survey yesterday and gave Lacerte high ratings.  Also, I recognize that they are expensive.

My product (LC 200) increased 5%*.

The expense has encouraged me to find re-think my business model (wealthier clients, expansion to advisory, etc.) in order to keep to my profitability goals.

So, while I think LC can improve, I like the product.

*This price does not include hosting, which is $125 per month. In addition, I don't yet know how much I will spend on additional states and e-signature. The 5% increase is still a valid and useful number.

Have you taken the AICPA survey?  I encourage you to take it.

Here is the 2025 survey.  PS and LC user ratings are similar in my judgement.

you had to sign some paperwork in order to become a Champ.  There were some discussions among the AllStars regarding the "sign here" requirement.

Those who signed to be a Champ have a duty of disclosure of that relationship.  There is a person in this thread who gave an opinion that I think was influenced by the non-disparagement clause. In fact, that comment went the other way...to an endorsement of the price. That must be disclosed.

I endorse LC, which I like to do and is my right.

I criticize LC, which I like to do and is my free choice.

Neither my endorsement nor my criticism has been bargained nor negotiated with Intuit.

BTW, the champs here provided useful and sometimes critical advice. I think they are good people and their involvement here is a way of giving back. I applaud that, too.

Interesting. Drake scored higher than Lacerte and ProSeries.

My question is: Do they charge different prices for the same package based on the user? Since 2021, my fees have increased by 17% every year.

I have heard that Drake is cheaper. AICPA survey users rate the price of Drake very high. I have not tried to product nor have I ever researched the price.

For me, Drake would be cheaper because of their bundling.  I do a fair number of corporate returns relative to individual ones and they cover that better.  I am testing their product now and so far so good.  It does take more time initially for client input.

I am just so frustrated with Intuit as a company - the last person I spoke with who was a regional rep (supposedly) came a cm short of telling me he really didn’t care what tax software I use.  I don’t like giving my money to people like that.  Besides, I have brought them tons of clients through the years with QB fees etc and I expect to be treated with some professional courtesy.

Brightened up my day.  And in times like this, anything that earns a laugh is appreciated.

Last year they convinced me to switch to Online Payroll, and it turned into a complete nightmare. Now I must move to another payroll company, especially after they decided to take control of paying and filing payroll taxes. A small piece of advice: don’t switch to Intuit Online Payroll if you have a semi-complicated payroll or a company with more than one division. I’ve also noticed that since Mr. Sasan K. Goodarzi was promoted to CEO in 2019, he has done very well for himself and for the shareholders—unfortunately, at our expense.

Please, note that stock price was once as high as $800 a share in July 2025. He sold 41,000 shares in Jan 7, 2026 @$650 a share price today is $270???????

Sasan K. Goodarzi Net Worth 2026

Sasan K. Goodarzi, CEO of Intuit Inc., has an estimated net worth of at least $260.1 million as of June 3, 2026.  This figure is based on his ownership of 108,509 shares of Intuit (INTU) stock, valued at approximately $34 million.

Insider Trading & Stock Holdings

  •              Recent sale: On January 7, 2026, Goodarzi sold 40,960 shares of Intuit at an average price of $650.10, generating about $26.65 million.
  •              Total sales since 2021: Over 369,000 shares sold, estimated at $226.1 million.
  •              Current holdings: 108,509 shares of Intuit, worth roughly $34 million
