Proseries renewal invoice increased by 40%

I recently received my 2025 ProSeries renewal invoice that showed a 40% increase from tax year 2024.  I have called 4 times asking the question - why did it increase by 40%?  There is no change in the products.

The customer support is just awful and nobody seems able to answer.  I just want a response so that I have enough time to evaluate other tax products.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Anyone who is a "Champ" has that below their forum name.

The more I know the more I don’t know.

Did I read right or have I been drinking too much fireball?  Someone said that they had been paying $1500.00bvfor their program. When? That was about one thousand less than what I paid before I retired in  2023 and I did not have the most expensive program then.

I saw your name here and since you are retired I thought you misread the post and you were here to complain about the increase in the price of Fireball.

The same thing just happened to me.  The answer I got was that they are raising the prices for current customers so that they can offer their new customers better pricing.  I am currently looking for other software and found that Tax Wise Online and Drake are a good bit cheaper than the invoice I just received.  I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that it takes 24-48 hours to receive a call from them.  The only reason I have used ProSeries all of the these years is because their pricing fits in my budget and I already knew the program from using it years ago.  Proseries is not the best program out there and certainly does not have the best pricing.  There are MANY other software programs out there, and I will be using one of those.

Agree.  I have a very small practice made up of clients I had before I left public accounting as a full time job.  I have to keep my costs down as much as possible.  I told the ProSeries representative that a 40% increase was WAY too much. I don't mind the small increases, because I know I can make it up by increasing my clients' invoices by a very small amount.  A 40% increase is riduculous

This year is the largest increase I’ve ever seen.  Insane.
