Proseries renewal invoice increased by 40%

I recently received my 2025 ProSeries renewal invoice that showed a 40% increase from tax year 2024.  I have called 4 times asking the question - why did it increase by 40%?  There is no change in the products.

The customer support is just awful and nobody seems able to answer.  I just want a response so that I have enough time to evaluate other tax products.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I believe that you're an insider...

Of course he is an insider.  It's awfully hard to run a tax practice outside, especially if you are like me and live in Minnesota.  As far as being an Intuit peoples, those folks stay as far away as possible from these types of discussions so it is a pretty safe assumption that there are no insiders posting in this string.

I can't believe that "Ironman" responded...I have always suspected that you're an insider...!

"I have always suspected that you're an insider...!"

Hopefully you don't also work part time as an investigator for a police department because you come up with some really bad hunches.  For the record, nobody has been sent to the Intuit principal's office more than me over the years.  I have no great love for Intuit but I am honest and a little on the blunt side.  If that makes me an insider in your eyes, so be it.

20 years--I think I used Pro for a few years and then switched to Basic.

So you pay separately for every business return?  That gets more expensive if you do a lot of corporate returns.

"That gets more expensive if you do a lot of corporate returns."

That's why you need to try and match the package that works best for a firm of your size.

Ironman is correct - you need to kind of do a cost analysis on if the pay per return or the unlimited business returns makes more sense based on how many you prepare.

I used to do unlimited individual with all states and pay per return business. Now I do unlimited personal and business and only do pay per return for when the business is in the city and have to add the city return.

I've been using it for almost 35 years and have no desire to learn a new program and convert clients at this stage. I'll hang on until I retire or . . . . . .  lol  so they will get their increase from me.

Hi Input,

Three years ago, Intuit offered me the opportunity to be a "Champion" or advocate or whatever. In return for some swag and trinkets, the agreement requested that I refrain from criticism of Intuit. I did not sign it.  I felt like they were asking me to silence my voice.

There is one "insider" in this thread. And you might be able to tell who it is.

Best of luck with your renewal decision!
