Proseries renewal invoice increased by 40%

I recently received my 2025 ProSeries renewal invoice that showed a 40% increase from tax year 2024.  I have called 4 times asking the question - why did it increase by 40%?  There is no change in the products.

The customer support is just awful and nobody seems able to answer.  I just want a response so that I have enough time to evaluate other tax products.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I had a consistent price rise of 1.0559% since 2016 - and for 2026 renewal they want to increase it to 1.4869 - which is an 8.12 X higher increase compared to the last 9 years...

Can I ask how much the invoice is for the ProSeries Power Tax Library with Fast Path Services?

For the second year in a row, my invoice increased by 40%.  I do not understand how long term customers can be treated this way.  When I called asked support I was told that it was due to inflation!!  Then I was told I did not need part of what I was being charged for and would I like it removed?
If I didn’t need it, why have I been paying for it for the last 10+ years?  No response.
I am a very small tax office and can’t adjust to these increases every year.  No choice but to look elsewhere.

what package do you buy and how much are you paying......theres a big difference if youre paying $1500 and got a 40% increase for a package that other people pay $3000 for, or vice versa.

I just found out that the 2026 software price increased by 50% from 2025 software.  Is this even possible.  Are we, tax professionals, being taken advantage of?

The 2026 ProSeries Professional Fast Path Services License cost $813.00 from $528.65.  This is ridiculous!

How do we get the Professional 1040 Package?  What is the difference between that and the "Proseries Professional Fast Path Services License?

We definitely have to bring this up.  This is price gouging.

I use Basic for 500+ returns.  For 2025  it was 2295.  For 2026 it will be 2668.  I don't like the price increase but it's less than a $1 per return.  I tried using Ultimate Tax, which was only $899, but I preferred the Proseries format that I've been using for years---can't teach an old dog new tricks!  I've only got a few years left before retiring so I'll stick with the Proseries.

Just out of curiosity, how long have you been using Proseries?

There is a big difference between. however, the poster doesn't like a 40% increase, nor would you in the same situation.

Perhaps this question is more useful:  If I were not already a customer, would I willingly pay this price for this package today?
