For clients who use HSAs each year, it would be very helpful for the 1099-SA and 5498-SA to generate as line items on the client checklist. We use the checklists each year to help our clients gather their documents, and they regularly forget about HSA tax forms because they don't automatically generate on the checklist.
Form NC D-407 is only available to file as a paper return, we would like you add the NC Trust D-407 tax return as an E-file option.
Earl was extremely helpful setting up my 2023 Lacerte in Rightworks he was knowledgeable and the import went fast
Would Like to see Form 8879 with a Auto Populated Date rather than checking a Box to populate a date and not printing a worksheet with just a box checked that is wasting paper..
DMS needs a secure lock system to open, similar to your tax program with code.
Our firm wishes to implement a fee schedule based on the unique forms prepared with a return. We understand that option is available in other software packages, i.e. Lacerte. Is that available or being considered as a new feature in consideration?Thank you.
The Lacerte Tax Programs do not use a relational database system where data is only entered one time and then used wherever it is needed.Due to these shortcomings, one has to input the same information in numerous and usually illogical places in the programs to complete a tax return correctly. This is a significant issue across all platforms, worst in exempt package.A basic issue that should have never been an issue is the "jump to Detail" from Forms. This feature does not work in over 50% of the fields. If this is because there are background calculations to determine an amount on the form, there should be a worksheet to support the amount calculation. There are very few, if any of the these worksheets. These are basic issues that Lacerte/Intuit refuses to address and their programs are getting worse and worse as the tax law gets for complicated. The Intuit thought process appears to be that if the issue affects less than 10% of customers, it will not be adressed. The problem with this approach is the percentage of impacted customers goes greater and greater. And the overall quality and reliability of the programs is less and less.I realize your programs are too messy and poorly constructed to addess these issues. At some point, your customers will say enough and change to better programs regardless of the price point (and current cost of your programs is closing that gap).
SmartVault's integration with ProSeries (and I'm assuming it's identical with Lacerte) is beautiful. I know ProConnect has built in document storage unlike ProSeries and Lacerte, but it would be nice if ProConnect integrated with SmartVault the same way ProSeries, Lacerte, and other professional tax software does. The built in storage in ProConnect is very nice as supplemental/redundant storage (and for new startup firms watching their expenses or seasonal tax preparers), but it's really only useful for tax prep engagements. An integration with SmartVault and Intuit Practice Management is already in the works, so it makes sense to intergrate it directly with ProConnect as well, especially since ProConnect is the only professional tax software from Intuit that is not yet directly integrated.Centralized document management and file storage is critical for efficiency, data security, and a positive experience for firm employees and clients, whether you're using a cloud application, physical file room, or both. I think SmartVault's direct integration with ProSeries, Lacerte, and other professional software is a huge time saver - you literally just need to "print" a client's return directly from the tax software to create a new client's file in SmartVault (and add additional files to an existing client). The automation is wonderful and you should only need to input a new client's data once, which would also reduce errors.Just my 2 cents, apologies if this is already in development.
