Should be able to print to SmartVault from all tax programs. Partnerships & Trusts most often do not work giving errors. Solution is to print to PDF, navigate to ProPDF, choose the file & save it to SmartVault. Many unneccessary steps.
It is a regular nuasance having to discard client letters with estimated tax instructions when the client is not going to make them. It is easy to for get to override it ever single time on individual returns, especially in the cases where the client doesn't even owe money but, based on the 10% rule, the software assumes the client will make 10% more, but assumes their w-2 withholding will be identical. The software even calculates estimated payments for deceased taxpayers and for taxpayers requesting payment plans.
This is a feature several other software have, e.g. Lacerte. As I view the specific form I can check off (or tick in Pro Systems Fx) the data as shown on the return. Look at check B and check off each of the interest and dividend income to confirm it matches the data sheet. Look at the 1099R summary and check them against the forms.
Please allow us to check the deposti refund box even when the client owes, so that it flows automatically to the state(s). I can swear there was one year, maybe 15 years ago or more, where this didn't trigger an 'error'.
Dear ProConnect Development Team,I appreciate the automatic save feature of your software; however, I've encountered some areas that could be improved for a more efficient user experience:1 - Refreshing Preview Window: The preview window doesn't always update immediately to reflect the most recent inputs, even after utilizing the "refresh form" option. Currently, one must navigate to "check return", return to the input screen, and then click "refresh form" for the latest inputs to appear. This process can be cumbersome and time-consuming. An enhanced save button or an update feature that more effectively and promptly reflects changes in the preview window would streamline this process.2 - Session Management: There have been instances where, after entering some data and stepping away from the workstation (e.g., for a dinner break), I return to find the session expired and the newly entered data lost upon re-login. It would be beneficial to have a more robust session management system in place to prevent such data loss. This could be achieved through mechanisms like active session reminders, data-saving prompts before timeout, or an automatic save feature that triggers before session expiration.I believe these suggested improvements would greatly enhance the overall user experience and efficiency of your product. Thank you for considering this feedback.Best regards.
Current payment dates for quarterly estimated tax cannot be changed, and this needs to be allowed.
A customer was wondering if forms 3520 and 5471 could be on ProSeries. He mentioned that a about a quarter of his clients need those forms.
It is just one character. Using dates, it is 15 keystrokes. Think about it.
We need support for Local forms in Oregon. As of now, you do not provide the form MET-40 for the Metro income tax or the from MC-40 Multnomah County Income tax form. Additionally, we need to be able to e-file these forms AND the City of Portland form SP and the state forms TM and LTD for transit self-employment taxes. We are paper filing all 5 of these local returns and are forced to hand prepare some of them.
Nonresidents without US withholding requirements have up to June 15 to file their taxes. However, the system is currently preventing us from entering a date after April 18, even though the default date the system enter is June 15. This needs to be fixed. The idea applies to the **payment due date** on the return **and** the **extension**.
