Allow Advanced Tax With Books role to use "Invoice via QuickBooks"New

Only Primary Admin has access to "Invoice via Quickbooks" for a return.  People with roles like advanced tax with books can manually invoice.  But the streamlined approach of "Invoice Via Quickbooks" should be available to anyone with "Sales" access in their role.  Instead they have to launch quickbooks online, go to sales->invoices, click on new invoice, and find the customer.  WWhy is it only streamlined for Primary?

New Year...More problemsNew

1) Call to talk with a "Tax Expert".  The Tax Expert didn't even know what ERO stands for. he thought it was Electronic Return Organizer.   These people ARE NOT "Tax Experts" again, every year.2) New this year, ERO electronic signature on 8879. Why isn't it populating?3) INSISTENT Advertisements!  Every time I open the program. Every time I run updates insistent Intuit advertisements pop up interfering with using the program and working.   STOP THE ADVERTISEMENTS!

Additions of K-120ES worksheet and vouchers to Kansas partnership and S-Corp returnsNew

The state of Kansas allows partnerships and S-Corporations to pay taxes on behalf of the owners.  When this is done, there is a need to make estimated tax payments for these entities similar to C Corporations.  Currently, the K-120ES worksheet and vouchers are only available in the C Corp program. It would GREATLY help us if these forms could be added to the Partnership and S Corp programs as well since we have a lot of these entities that need to make estimated tax payments for 2025.  Getting these added as soon as possible will be appreciated.

Enhancing Efficiency in Intuit Link: A Proposal for Bulk Document Request CapabilityDiscussion ongoing

Currently, Intuit Link requires tax preparers to individually request tax documents from each client. This process can be quite time-consuming for professionals managing numerous clients. A more efficient approach would be the implementation of a feature allowing the sending of a standardized request or email template to all clients simultaneously. This enhancement would significantly streamline the document collection process in Intuit Link.

Quick Employer Forms - not providing acceptable outputNew

Copy "C", For Payer, of Form 1099-NEC is not available to print.When choosing "Print All" for Form 1096, 1099-NEC, each 1099-NEC is followed by the 1096 with the total equal to the single 1099-NEC.  In other words I have ten separate 1099-NECs and the Print All produces ten separate 1096sRight now I am holding off E-filing any information return because I have no confidence that the proper forms are being transmitted ???

Louisiana nonresident professional athleteNew

The state of Louisiana requires nonresident professional athletes to file Schedules NRPA-1 and NRPA-2 with state filings.  As this form is not available in Lacerte, we have the option of going to the Louisiana website to file or attaching the schedules in Lacerte.  My request is that Lacerte add Schedules NRPA-1 and NRPA-2 to the program for more efficient processing of professional athlete tax returns.

Lacerte - Special depreciation allowance for booksNew

Many small businesses use tax depreciation, including Section 179 and the special depreciation allowance, for their books. So it doesn't make sense that Lacerte doesn't have an option to calculate them for book depreciation. Intuit, please consider adding this.

Importing rental income information from Excel directly to the softwareNew

I do a lot Schedule E clients and 1120S where they have rental properties. It will save me a lot of time if we can import the data from excel or PDF to the software directly. As typing each and everyone is very time consuming.

Pop-up Summary during e-fileNew

Please add a pop-up window when getting ready to e-file to show Summary of tax return (amount due/refund), bank account info, and date date of bank draft with similar State summary so it's easy to check payment instructions on returns being filed.

One page organizer list of documents neededDiscussion ongoing

Please consider a one page list of the documents and items needed from a client.  Many clients do not need/want to complete the organizers. We want to give them a list of all the specific W-2s, 1099s, they had last year.  A similar list is generated with the Link program but there is no way to get it as a printable list.  Other tax software offer this and I think it would be tremendously helpful. Thank you

Masking by default setting the social security numbers on printed returnsNew

Due to government regulations regarding the protection of client identity against fraudulent activity, I would strongly recommend that Lacerte programmers include a default setting for the masking of social security numbers on all printed documents. The default setting would avoid having to manually place a check mark in the box for masking on every print command. This default could be placed in SETTINGS/OPTIONS/TAX RETURN in all Lacerte tax modules.

In Tax Planner, it would be helpful if there were a list of input that goes into a plan. There is such a listing in the tax software, i.e. the Client Detail. Seeing on one or more pages the input going into a tax plan would be a valuable enhancement.

Change of Primary AdminNew

My business partner died and I have been working to change the primary admin to me since Nov 5th. Lacerte continues to make this process impossible.  I have submitted documents five documents and Lacerte still finds reasons to not accept.  The last two submissions have been clear and correct documents and it seems to sit on deafs ear at Lacerte.  Customer No-Service continues to be Lacerte's response as it is impossible to speak to a decision maker at Lacerte.Looking for recommendations of other tax software with a provider that provides customer service and a good product.

Google Authenticator Time Sync ProblemNew

When using Google Authenticator as MFA, the time sync is off.  When I enter the displayed 6-digit number, I get a message from Intuit that the code is expired.  I then have to wait for up to one minute for Authenticator to refresh, then I only get 15 seconds to use the number.This across ProSeries, QBO, etc. and is a new issue this season.  for all of 2024, things worked great!  What broke???As I am frequently logging into databases both local and hosted, this is a real issue for me!

PROCONNECTPROBLEM: Specifically, the list of tax forms being generated for a client must be on the INVOICE (See the GENERAL INFORMATION report "Forms needed for this return.").In December 2024 I migrated to ProConnect from Lacerte (over 20 yrs as client). I am a tax preparer, accountant, and IT software tester (Intuit Quicken/QuickBooks/Payroll and a corporate programmer/database mgr.).I am DISAPPOINTED that the INVOICE form is not adequate and requires a lot of manual input.Since ProConnect is eccentially replicating the forms that Lacerte uses (plus improvements), Invoice generation should have the same capabilities at a minimum as Lacerte. Perhaps the INVOICE should also be changed to a TEMPLATE, so that KEYWORDS can be used to customize it.I can volunteer to test changes, if needed!

Allow user to create Password for pdf file in own formatNew

Allow tax preparer to create their own password for pdf files for tax returns and not the system generated format.  The current format is too difficult for some clients especially with the formatting of including the city name.  Current format is ssncityzipcode.

Default settings for client view in ProConnect dashboardNew

It would be great if there were settings to adjust the default views in the ProConnect client dashboard. Each time I log in, the list is limited to 20 clients, and I don't believe it sorts by name by default. It would be nice to be able to establish those settings so the same view came up each time by default.
