Allow car and truck worksheet to remain with zero business miles for years that we need it in the future

I would like to keep all the information on the car and truck worksheet in the years when business mileage is not used. Some don't have business mileage every year. I had to take the worksheet off as couldn't enter zero business mileage. Very inconvenient for years that will need the worksheet again.

I think it is fairly new, but it seems to let me do that for 1040s now. But I think you need to enter zero for the total miles as well.

Put a permanent note on the business mileage line. It will transfer from year to year and you will have the record you need.

if line 15 "does this vehicle qualify for standard mileage rate" is checked NO, why are errors showing to enter vehicle detail. Even the line instructions state mileage is not mandatory. To clear the return for efile extra steps need to be taken. Seems to be if line 15 is checked NO, program should know not to show errors on lines 1-8. Can this program change be made.
