Now that the Treasury is trying to do away with paper checks, Lacerte or the Treasury needs to be able to accept electronic estimated payments after the due date. For example, if the tax return is not filed until October, you cannot electronically make an estimated payment for September 15th. You must wait until the next due date. The clock is ticking. You don't want the estimate to have to wait until January.

Ability to customize "type" of forms for documents in the "Firm Documents" section in Proconnect TaxNew

You should be able to customize the type of document you have uploaded in the Firm Documents section in Proconnect Tax. Right now you can only use what they have created. There are way more tax forms than what is listed and I would like to make one for 1099-SA for HSAs, etc.

It would be nice for an installment sale and also the disposition of a partnership interest or s corp for form 8960 section in Lacerte would carryforward to the next year. All the installment agreement information does but wish that piece did with the check box.

Professional Athlete Filings - LouisianaNew

A request for Lacerte software developers.  Professional athletes are required to attach Schedules NRPA-1 and NRPA-2 to the tax returns.   However, it does not appear that Lacerte has these options available.  My request is to add these schedules for Louisiana to allow Lacerte to file complete Louisiana tax returns.

Maine State Tax Returns - Client Name Incorrect Due to ProgrammingNew

On the Client Information screen, first name & initial are one input box creating an issue for clients who have two first names that aren't hyphenated. Maine state return is picking up the space in-between the first names as in indicator of a middle name but it is not. I was told that the only solutions were to add a hyphen to the name, or remove the space between the names. We want to avoid this as the tax returns will no longer align or agree to any names on their tax forms.

Defect in ProSeries 1040 ProgramNew

The Personal Representative of a deceased taxpayer with a refund is not able to efile the tax return.  Instead the program forces the Personal Representative to fill out the Form 1310.  THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE FORM 1040 SPECIFICALLY STATE THAT THE FORM 1310 IS NOT REQUIRED UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES.  SEET BELOW.Page 58 of the 2024 1040 InstructionsClaiming a refund for a deceased tax-payer. If you are filing a joint return with your deceased spouse, you only need to file the tax return to claim the refund. If you are a court-appointed rep-resentative, file the return and include a copy of the certificate that shows your appointment. All other filers requesting the deceased taxpayer's refund must file the return and attach Form 1310.

1040 input of K-1 line 20zNew

I am entering a K-1 to the 1040 form. I need to add many lines to 20z. The most common boxes used are Ordinary Income, rental income, w-2 wages and UBIA. I would like to have the ability to remove some columns if needed. I would the the top row that has the column name to stay visible when I input 20-30 of these lines.

Alabama form 8829 Line 27 is not calculating properly. A case was submitted to Lacerte on 8/25/2025 and as of today (9/25) has not been resolved. Is anyone else having this problem with Lacerte on resolving form calculation errors. OR does anyone have a solution for fixing AL form 8829 Line 27?

5500 instructionsNew

Someone with knowledge in the 5500 reporting area should review outputs to ensure functionality of letters and instructions. For example, for an 8955-SSA that is setup to file electronically, the filing instruction tells the client to file by U.S. mail and it provides the address. There is no way to fix it. The instructions worked correctly for 2023 reporting, but not 2024. Very frustrating.

Blank K-1 Worksheet warning if the K-1 was present in the prior year returnNew

It would be very beneficial to have the software warn if there has been a K-1 entered in the prior year for aK-1 Worksheet, 1040, Individual, Business client, but there aren't any entries yet in the carried over K-1 worksheet. If there truly isn't anything to be entered in the current year or it is all zeroes, at least the software forces the blank K-1 worksheet to be addressed before completing the return.

A single member LLC is a partner in a limited partnership. This single member LLC is noted as a disregarded entity in screen 7 “Partner information”. The SSN & name of the owner of the disregarded entity are entered in screen 32.1 "Disregarded Entity: Partner Information". The K-1 data export tool should transfer the K-1 info to the individual's tax return for reporting on page 2 of Sch E. But, this is not happening and we have to manually enter the K-1 in the individual's tax info.

Fix links from input screens to trust tax return for MD extension/estimate paymentsNew

According to ProConnect, "Unlike some other returns, extension payments for fiduciary filings often require manual entry into the specific tax payment screens rather than automatically populating."  Even after following the steps to manually enter the extension payment made for a Maryland trust return we had to have a 2 hour phone call with Intuit's ProConnect support team for technical assistance.  Entering the extension payment in the input screen did not flow to the tax return.  This was a simple trust return with only one resident state.  This shouldn't have been a two hour phone call that in the end required us needing to do a batch edit of data through Customer Support Tools - just fix the link or give us a way to override.

TSJ indicators and notes pencil icon conflictNew

When TSJ indicators are shown and notes are added to the box, the pencil icon that indicates there are notes is under the TSJ indicator. We miss the notes all the time when TSJ is enabled and it's very frustrating. We want to leave TSJ enabled, but we also need the notes as returns go between preparer and final reviews. Please move the notes pencil to one side of the box and the TSJ indicators to the other side.

State Estimates Auto PayNew

It looks like you are trying to set up the state (Indiana) estimates to allow for autopay.  This option would really help as Indiana does not want estimates mailed in.  They prefer auto pay through our software or online payments which is difficult for many clients. Will this be available for 2025 returns?

Printing Signature Forms to SmartVault.New

We have the option of printing Signature Forms to SmartVault.  However, it changes the name to Government Copy which overrides any Government Copy we had already printed to SmartVault.  It would be helpful if the name could stay Signature Forms to prevent us from having to go back, change the name & then print another Government Copy to SmartVault. Also, a couple of years ago, the State form got removed from the print result for the 1065 program.  You can choose Print to SmartVault & you can check both Federal & State, however only the Federal prints.  This requires us to print the state Signature form as a separate step.

Support Form MO-TC for e-filingNew

I wish that ProSeries supported electronic filing of Form MO-TC (and Form MO-SHC) with Missouri individual income tax returns. Missouri has so many credits that are reported on the MO-TC and not being able to electronically file those returns increases the time spent on these returns by having to print a copy to mail and making copies of all the supporting documents to be sent with the return. It also increases the chance for errors by the state when they process the paper return. This form can be electronically filed with the Missouri 1120 corporate and Missouri 1041 returns. I don't understand why it can't be electronically filed with a Missouri 1040 individual return.

Time stamp on Intuit InviteNew

Some clients ask me to "re-invite" them to the Intuit Link.  If I could tell them what DATE the original invite was sent, they can look in their e-mails and accept.  Otherwise, we have to go through the involved process of "un-inviting" them, then "re-inviting" them.  Takes extra time.  During tax season, time is what we DON'T have.A simple date stamp on the invite, when you access the 'Invitation pending' link would be helpful.Thank you.
