It looks like you are trying to set up the state (Indiana) estimates to allow for autopay. This option would really help as Indiana does not want estimates mailed in. They prefer auto pay through our software or online payments which is difficult for many clients. Will this be available for 2025 returns?
We have the option of printing Signature Forms to SmartVault. However, it changes the name to Government Copy which overrides any Government Copy we had already printed to SmartVault. It would be helpful if the name could stay Signature Forms to prevent us from having to go back, change the name & then print another Government Copy to SmartVault. Also, a couple of years ago, the State form got removed from the print result for the 1065 program. You can choose Print to SmartVault & you can check both Federal & State, however only the Federal prints. This requires us to print the state Signature form as a separate step.
As others have previously mentioned, the following suggestions would make the Link client platform much better: 1. you should be able to delete client data - totally delete the file and all of its contents. 2. you should be able to add more than one email to a file, especially for MFJ taxpayers. 3. there should be a section to account for quarterly estimated payments for federal and states. 4. the list of documents turned in the PY should roll over so the client can make sure they are not missing any documents.
The Virginia Form 500 is required to be submitted for NFPs with a 990-T (located in VA). However the only state you can get with the 990s is CA. Therefore we have create a second entity on the corporate side and re-enter all the information for the organization a second time. It would be far more efficient to make the VA Form 500 available as a state form under the 990s.
ProSeries technical support is excellent. Kristen stayed with me today until my issue was resolved.
Screen 1, New York Information, has a checkbox New York City Return. This finally triggered the NYC forms to populate. Of course this was in addition to completing additional data needed in Screens 42 to 50 specific to New York State and City.
My support call today was great, she was very friendly and helpful.Come to find out, when I shared my screen I found out that her cursor was removed from some recent update on Lacerte's side, bad bad bad idea as that was a super helpful tool. Please bring that back. The Lacerte rep's want it back, they were surprised when it vanished as it was a good tool.
