My client number is 959.Tax Planner, ConversionI purchased the Tax Planner because clients are asking about Solar and installing it, paying with IRA or 401K Money. Is this a good idea. It was very hard to get the software to work and I finally did so on my own, the tech support could not help me.ONLY to find out that the tax planner does not do Solar Credit. So a waste of my money. I do not understand why this would not be in the planner!Edward Estrin
When installing ProSeries for the new tax year, the program asks the question "Would you like to transfer last year's tax files?" This usually requires that one review HomeBase from last year and sift out those files that will not be rolled forward, the reasons for which may vary widely. Is there a quick way to put a check box on which files should or should not be rolled forward so that the program knows automatically which ones to pick up and which ones to leave behind? The current process of highlighting/selecting by file name is not a great way to do so.For example, a check box in the 2021 program (on HomeBase or in the FIW) might work that addresses whether: the 2021 return is final; the client is no longer a client; the return was a projection; the return was the original return and only the amended should be rolled forward; etc. Such check box could instruct the 2022 program whether or not to transfer the return to 2022 (rather than us having to dig through file names).Further, it is much quicker to do this during the tax year (after you complete the return) and from, say, HomeBase than it is to go back 8 months later.Any technological approach to resolving the above process and making it more efficient would be welcome. Thanks.
Need to add KY local tax form OL-S to individual and business returns to allow us to prepare local tax returns for KY. This is a generic local tax form for KY where we could enter information for local taxing agencies and the applicable tax rates. I have to prepare alot of individual local KY returns for clients and this would save a lot of time.
On numerous occasions I have completed a 1040X to be e filed and it gets rejected because there is no prompt to change the date pin entered to the current year. This should be an error that occurs while reviewing or a prompt would be helpful to change the date to the current year you are submitting.
It would be helpful to have a prompt for any 1099R's that carried over from the year before to enter them if left blank, just like the program functions for the W2's.
