PDF FileSize Problem for Partnership ReturnsNew

When printing a PDF of a large partnership return that is 1,000 pages long the PDF file size is 5MB. When printing PDF's of the K1 packages for the 40 partners each K1 is 1.5MB and the total of all partner PDF's is 50MB. The PDF file size is 10x larger when printing individual K1 packages vs just printing the complete tax return that contains exactly the same K1 pages.This problem also occurs when print single page PDFs from the forms screen.Having such large induvial PDFs makes it very difficult to attach to emails. I know the issue can be solved because the PDF file size of a print of a complete return is very small respectively.

On the Invoice screen, it would be quite helpful to have additional fields for:Payment Type - Cash, Check, Credit Card, ACH, etc.Deposit field separate from the balance due paymentPayment dates field for Deposit payment receivedBalance due payment receivedCurrently there is only one field available for payments received (Received on account).  I am aware that you can drill into the supporting detail and include multiple payments information.  However, it makes locating these payments quite tedious.  It would be "most wonderful" to have the received payment information individually entered to be able to track each one.

When working on the detail screen one can click on the "F" icon on the top to open a second window to view the forms. This is a nice feature except that one has to resize the second window each time it is used. Can Lacerte memorize the last setting (placing and sizing) when Lacerte is opened next time?

Missouri S Corporations need a form 8995 or 8995-A to generate in order to complete line 4 of the MO-PTENew

The instructions for line 4 of the MO-PTE indicate that the S corporation or partnership should calculate the entity's federal qualified business income deduction as if it was allowed to take such deduction for federal tax purposes.  The instructions further state that the entity should attach a pro forma federal Form 8995 or Form 8995-A showing the calculation of the federal qualified business income deduction. Will Lacerte be updating software to include this form and the related calculation?

The disposition of an asset on with Section 179 expense does not carryover to the Form 7203 when transferring between S corporation program and individual program. The disposition transfers correctly to Form 4797 properly.

It would be so much easier if 1041's entry was more like 1040's.  Make schedule B, D, E, the same sort of input.  Makes it so much easier to enter and review.  Other software does this.Same for grantor trusts.  And the data could flow to the letter.  Proseries is totally useless for g

Louisiana requires non-resident professional athletes to e-file and included schedules NRPA-1 and NRPA-2.  The penalties for not including the schedules is significant.  I don't see these schedules in the LA module.  They don't look that complicated.  Can they be added?

How to enter a state with with no Income tax Just Federal taxNew

I had  two W-2's  from South Dakota that has no state Income tax.  I wasn't sure how to put them in the W-2  information with no state. I called a Lacerte Expert  named Jessica who showed me how to put US in the state information and  other fixes. This  fixed my problems and got the returns e-filed. Organizer .pdf file option to add a password and encryption to the fileNew

When printing a tax return to .pdf there is a check box to add encryption and a password.  This is a wonderful feature.When printing an Organizer the check box for the password in the print options area is missing.  Please add the checkbox so that I can print a .pdf file with encryption and a password.  The option is available if you want an e-mail .pdf, but that requires the installation of an e-mail program.  I just want to print the Organizer .pdf file and save that to a directory.  I want that file encrypted so that without the password no one can open it.  The Organizer has a lot of client data in it and only authorized personnel should be able to open it.  We also want to be able to verify the file does not open without a password when we look at it in the file directory of our computer system.  We have our own e-mail system and we want to be able to attach password encrypted files to the e-mails we create inside our own e-mail system.  That e-mail system does not work with Lacerte.  Please add this feature to printing the Organizer files just like it does when printing Tax Returns.

Hi there,Under balance sheet & miscellaneous on screen 30 of the 2022 S corporation tax under "Other" there is an option for the schedule M1 adjustments for the refundable employment tax return credits option 1 for yes (to adjust) or no (don't adjust) for an override, when I change it from no to yes it isn't having any effect on the M1 schedule.Please have a look and let me know.Jennifer McManus

In your 2022 Lacerte Program, in Scrn 54 Ohio Cities, we make entries regarding R.I.T.A. Form 37 and other forms required to be e-filed to make it complete.  On your 2022 R.I.T.A. Form 37 EST-EXT, you need to update the form for 2022 filing year.  The form is currently showing 2021 and 2022 tax years rather than 2022 and 2023.  Thank you, Tom Bruzda E.A.

Work better with SmartVaultNew

It would be great if ProSeries could work better with SmartVault. We can't be the only office to use both. Suddenly in 2022, I have had issues with moving signatures from our signature pad over to SmartVault folders because of some PDF error and have to re-save it as another PDF to just drag and drop. I also am unable to send tax returns in secure, password protected emails because of another error I get for 2022 tax files. So it would be fantastic if you could talk to SV and figure out what changed from past years to TY 2022.
