In 2022 Lacerte, Individual, the form 114 is being generated when creating a docusign request even when there is no input or 114 required. The 114 should not automatically generate in docusign.
April 25, 2023.I suggest a notification that some Federal and State K-1 items do not get exported to the Individual module. It could be a general diagnostic. It could be a notice of the specific items that are not transferred. BUT MAKE IT BOLD AND CLEAR. I never knew that the export of K-1 was not complete until yesterday. That could be my fault as I have been using Lacerte for 9 years. The rep told me to read this support article: https://proconnect.intuit.com/support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/export-schedule-k-1s-tax-returns-lacerte/L3EQAarj7_US_en_US
In the individual module, it would **bleep** up the figures with our source documents when the k1s show up in random order. It would also be helpful if you would allow for the data to be exported to excel so we can sort it there.
I'm working in the exempt module, form 43.3 Grants and Allocations for form 990-PF. I have a long list of contributions to various charitable organizations to enter and it would make things so much quicker and easier if you had an import utility available for this input form so I can have the info brought in from an excel spreadsheet in the same way as you have this option available for Schedule D and assets.
It is insane that e-signatures do not carry over from one year to the next. Intuit makes enough money from its users and this use 'em or lose 'em crap has to stop.I buy minimal amounts to try to not waste the e-signatures. There is NO GOOD reason why they should not be available the following year or in any year for that matter.
Please update the program to allow for auto installation of program updates. There already is a scheduler to download updates but it does not install them. It is frustrating to open the program and log in only to have it immediately close to install the updates, which requires reopening the program and logging back in.
When setting up auto payment of CT estimated taxes, the program prints the following filing instructions:"The first installment of $xxx will be directly withdrawn from you bank account on April 15, 2023."1) The date is wrong. Due date for 1st quarter 2023 estimated taxes is April 18th, not the 15th.2) The filing instructions are wrong. Regardless of what the filing instructions say, for CT the debit will not happen unless the e-file estimated payment wizard is used. Therefore the filing instructions should have stated the same. Instead the filing instructions lead one to believe all is set for auto payment of CT estimated taxes.3) Further, there should have been a diagnostic saying the e-file estimated payment wizard must be used for efiling CT estimated tax payments.
My call today was about the correct flow of the California PTE payment made by a Partnership. The partners of the Partnership are 2 Trusts. The PTE was taken against one of the trusts California tax. The remaining credit was a recorded as a carryover. An override was made in the K-1 Override screen to pass the remaining PTE to the Individual return. Individual that is the beneficiary of the 2 Trusts.
Please add Oregon critical diagnositic indicating Oregon will reject efiling if the business name is missing on any line on this form. The return I efiled did not have a business name on all lines of this form and was rejected. The return was efiled on 4/17/23 and rejected on 4/18/23. It was corrected on 4/19/23 and accepted by Oregon on 4/19/23. This form is an election that can only be made on a timely filed return. In my client's case the election saved them $10,000 in Oregon taxes.Lacerte support staff has assured me that the return was timely filed on the postmarked date of 4/17/23. Let's hope they are correct.
California has two pages to its efile form. It would be great if the second page, FTB efile consent to disclosure page, would print out with the other efile forms 8879 when you go to the EFILE: Step1: Print efile signature document. That way I don't have to go into the clients account, go to forms and then print off that single page, FTB efile consent to disclosure page.
