POA for state returnsDiscussion ongoing

I'm from WV. The IT140 state tax return does not have a direct connection to WV2848.I have, on numerous occasions requested the form be put in the state return menu and list of forms.Is this possible for 2021?I would think many practitioners throughout the U.S. would find having the state POA available, a boon to our practices, and a time saver.The Federal 2848 does not in all states grant POA to the state returns.The POA state forms are in the corporate return menu's but not in the individual non-business returns.

Extension Payment ConfirmationsDiscussion ongoing

Please provide extension payment confirmation to the Efile center. Amounts and date debited. Currently there is no extension payment confirmation. Just confirmation the extension was accepted. Please add this.Also add, Form 9325 to all returns, not just 1040s. You can add the payment confirmation (extension and tax payments) to this form as well.

Functionality to quickly determine tax savings from IRA contributionsDiscussion ongoing

It would save a great deal of time if Proseries had the functionality to quickly/easily determine the max IRA/Roth/SEP contributions a taxpayer could make AND show the corresponding tax savings (fed and states) at various contribution levels.  I'm sure the current manual process using worksheets could be automated which would provide a time savings for preparers and a monetary savings for happy taxpayers.My clients love when I can tell them a $X IRA contribution will save you $Y in taxes this year.  Calculating the $Y takes a few minutes going back and forth between the returns and jotting down the savings somewhere like in the comments field.

Allow user to "highlight" and  "copy" from the print preview screen. Currently a user must print to PDF to copy name and address of the client or any other information to use in other documents. This would save a lot of time for the user because they would not have to open a separate PDF reader to copy the data.

Efile ExtensionsDiscussion ongoing

Improve the box of information before efiling an extension. Not only should the ready status be shown, but also the amount of payment to be paid with the extension and the date of withdrawal for Federal and state returns.It should like this:   Return   Status  Tax to Pay  Withdraw DateX Federal Ready  $10,000       7/10/20X CA        Ready  $     250       7/10/20 This would be a great double check. Perhaps it should also be used for efiling the returns.

ProSeries needs a more streamlined method of entering real estate taxes across schedules A, E, F, 8829 and so on. Entering on 8829 proves to be a circular type reference ie: I don't know if the taxpayer will itemize until after I make the entries on the other forms/schedules. And I pay the big bucks so that I don't have to do the math! Also, mortgage interest entered in the excess line (for those who are taking standard deduction) does not flow to New York. Very frustrated with this. A worksheet to enter deductions that will be prorated across schedules would be great

In Proseries:   Please change the Masking Watermark from "DO NOT MAIL - DATA MASKED" to"CLIENT COPY".  Also, the masking is covering some numbers on certain forms, so please make the watermark smaller and lighter. Thank you!

1099-B Reconciliation Smart Worksheet on Schedule D, why not have another column next to Gross proceeds, Cost or other Basis.  It would make it easier to review a return with this information.

On a final K-1 have a check box that you have already reported the sale of schedule D  or elsewhere so you don’t have to create entries there.  That wastes time.

Add ability to memorize a view in the EF center the same way as the other Homebase views. Or at least move the Preparer column to be visible instead of all the way to the right. Seeing the submission ID and Refund Method are not as useful as seeing who the preparer is when you have multiple preparers.

It would be a great advantage if the list of 1099s at the left of the return currently being prepared could be displayed by name in alphabetical order. When preparing a return with up to 40 1099s, it would certainly save time in entering the information after transferring to the next year's return.  So much time wasted in going through that long list searching for a particular name.  If in alpha order, not so much of a problem.Also, the option to change the Font Size in the HomeBase would be of immense help.

Allow K-1 data entry of Boxes 1, 2, and 3 to be on the same K-1 Worksheet.  The current method requires a separate K-1 Worksheet for each of the three entries.  For clients that have multiple K-1s, this is quite cumbersome and inefficient.  Thanks.
