Quick Entry is useless when I am doing a summary of the transactions and still have to go into the detail each time to put a 1 or a 2 in the box. Then I get paranoid each time if I think I may have put the wrong thing, so I waste time going back in or refreshing the tax return view.
for a couple marry filing joint is there a way Proconnect can create a login for both users to get access like a joint bank account. And we do not have to move files they uplaoded seperately thank you
Right now in ProConnect, you can only use the filter search bar to search by client name and using the sorting to sort by Return Name. Unless you can remember off the bat which Status type a client is in, or scroll all the way over to find the different Status Types you have to search, it can take a good while to find the correct clients to check their current status and update them if need be.That's not really helpful if you use multiple Status Types (say you create custom ones, on top of the defaults) or have a large list of clients to go through on the Tax Returns page, so then you have to check each Status Type page one at a time to confirm their current status in the software. It would be more helpful to have either sorting or filtering on the All page for Tax Returns to be able to search by specific Status types (i.e say you want to see only those returns with the status of IRS Accepted or Rejected to be all on one page and exclude all the other statuses).
When importing 1099R and other allowable documents, it misses some fields like State, it is not complete upload of all information on the document.
Why isn't SSA 1099 not included as part of the other documents that can be imported? Please add this form to the list. Thank you.
Fix the Fiduciary module, for Estimates, when it says [O] for override for Interest, it shouldn't be ADDING the amount.
When a taxpayer has some nontaxable social security benefits, and is contributing to a traditional IRA, the "nontaxable social security income" addback to arrive at Modified AGI is adding back the ENTIRE social security benefits, not just the nontaxable portion. This results in Modified AGI being overstated, and potentially incorrectly jumping the taxpayer in the next level of Tabor State Sales Tax Refund. Line 32 of Form 104 is where you'll see this defect, when someone has a deductible contribution to an IRA and has social security benefits, some of which are taxable.
When I print my client’s filing copy, client copy, and preparer copy, I select Mask Sensitive Data for the client copy. However, Form 8879 is not masked, which seems counter-intuitive. How do I send the client home with a masked copy to prevent identity theft? When the client is in front of me, and I want them to sign Form 8879, I can print it from the preparer copy or by Print Selected Forms, which is not masked. The way it is now, if I want the client copy to be masked, I need to take a black marker and redact the first five numbers of the social. My suggestion for enhancement is if I select Mask Sensitive Data for my client copy, all sensitive information will be masked.
Specifically, I wanted to include form 8962 (Premium Tax Credit) in the PDF. This will answer the concern whether the preparer has considered the 1095-A or it has no effect. It is the same reason that we wanted to include Sch. A even when it is not used.Currently we use a check box on the input field to force inclusion. I propose adding the box for form 8962. The other alternative is to select forms when printing, similar as in the preview where we can select forms under "ALL forms". The latter is more generic.
