What do you do if IRS rejects return because EIN doesn't match business name?
My client formed a partnership last year and applied for EIN and then decided to change the business name. When I filed the initial return the IRS rejected it because the name didn't match the EIN. My client did notify the IRS of the name change. I received the following reject message:
I don't see Name Change box to check. Where can I find that?
