W-2 without box 1 wages

Has anyone ever come across a w-2 with no box 1 wages. a client's son brought in a w-2 with box 1 with nothing entered and box 3 social security wages of $1875 and Box 5 medicare wages of $1875.

Not sure how to treat this.

    I have one but I was able to confirm someone put exempt wages so there was no fed'l wages or state wages. I believe it was HR that made the mistake. Taxpayer is looking into it and getting some answers.

      He either deferred all of his income or somebody screwed up.  I'm putting money on the screw up option.  Sounds like someone might want to call the employer.
