Have you heard of an extension to file to 2016 returns past 4-15-20.  My research which has a date of 4-1-20 says no extension on statute of limitations exists as of that date.  Please let me know.

Thanks,

John Skouberdis

I was able to find the following FAQ on the IRS web site: https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/filing-and-payment-deadlines-questions-and-answers

A22. No, the relief provided for filing Federal income tax returns applies only to Federal income tax returns for the 2019 taxable year. The Notice does not extend relief to any filings or payments for taxable year 2016.

I changed mine to the following and it fits. -->**Say "Thanks" by clicking the thumb icon in a post**Click "Mark as Best Answer " to mark the post that answers your question.

Thanks for your reply.  That was the same research that I found.  Looks like there has been no updated news at this time
