Small town church treasurer over deducted for social security and medicare tax. How do I claim the excess for refund?

    Ask the small town church treasurer to cut a check from the church checking account and then correct the related payroll tax returns and W-2s.

      Thanks a lot. Treasurer is kind of crochety but that seems like the right answer. Does he need to issue a corrected W-2?
