Is there a glitch on CA form 3853?

It looks like the Had Coverage code (Z) is returning an error at the bottom that says that they had a Penalty (X)

Anyone experiencing the same situation?

Which software? It is amazing how different all of the Intuit tax software are.

I doubt the glitch is with the FTB form. It is likely an operator error. How many months had code Z.

I have ProSeries Professional. Ten months had code Z

    Hope that helps!

    Thanks for your input.

How did those 10 codes get onto the form? How did the other codes get onto the other two months? Magic? Did you do some input from some 1095 form?

This sounds like the client was not insured for two months of the year and has to pay a penalty for that unless you can find an excuse to get them out of it. Look at the instructions for CA FTB 3853

Next time, select your software first and not Tax Talk.
