hello, I need help for tax treatment. One of my client received IRA distribution for his two dependents son as part of distribution of a deceased relative. This distribution from NYS teachers association and they issued 1099-R. Do I need to show distribution of parents income? do i need any additional form.

Also, is this distribution  taxable in NY? I did not find any NY rules.

Please help me if anyone knows about proper treatment for FED and NY.

If it was issued in the childrens' SSNs it goes on the childrens' returns.

The more I know the more I don’t know.
