Can a digital file be obtained if the taxpayer already filed the return using Turbo tax online?

I have a prospective client who tells me that he cannot send me a digital file because he used Turbo tax online and they dont  have a copy of it.  Is that true?

    From the way Intuit charges for professional software, it might be case of you have to pay for this year before we let you access last year, even though you already paid for last year.
