CA resident with Arizona Casino winnings

Hi everyone, 

I have a 1040 client, a California resident, who won Casino gambling winnings in Arizona. $11,820, to be exact. Will he need to file a nonresident return for Arizona?

    Yes but California will give him credit for any Arizona tax paid to the extent it doesn't exceed California tax on the same amount.
