CA PTE Prepayment(Form 3893)-electronic withdraw in Screen 3.1

Hi there,

Does anyone has ever used this auto electronic withdraw function in Lacerte to pay CA PTE elective payment(Form 3893)? Does it really work well?

I just submitted it for my client and set up this auto payment. However, after I submitted I noticed that Lacerte e-file activity report will not show this $1000 PTE elective payment submission date.

I'm worried about if this payment will going to happen on June 15. If it doesn't happen, I don't have evidence to prove it in front of FTB.

Thanks in advance!

It works. I agree, super vulnerable feeling that it's not in showing the e-file log. But I've done it for client for the two prior years and it works. The first year I babysit it in MyFTB. It also does print in the e-file acceptance confirmation letter.

Thanks for sharing it Karl. I feel much better now:-) Anyway, I will just ask my client to pay another $1,000 PTE by check as a backup plan.

I can certainly understand wanting to cover your bases, but I'd caution you to think through how that would message to the client. Clients vary.

Some want the abundance of caution, and this would be a smart move for those clients.

Others value the time value of money and not early/over paying, and if you don't frame this carefully, this could send some subliminal messages that you don't want to send. Does my tax pro really know what he/she is doing? Is the software being used reliable to prepare my taxes accurately?
