Based on some of the IRS notices that have been posted here, I wouldn't hold my breath that this is going happen smoothly.  The IRS is running like a 1982 Yugo these days.

    Yes. One of my trusts got one of those notices charging an underpayment penalty when they are not subject to it. An IRS system error that IRS was supposed to fix "automatically". Now they have a Notice of Intent to Levy.

    The more I know the more I don’t know.
