Twenty three year old son is drug addict , sent to rehab which was paid by parents, can the parents use the $20,000 receipt on their tax return

    Yes, simply to say, the entire amount can be claimed if your son depends on you. The situation is mentioned in the CRA's guide. The following is the link of the guide.
