PROFILE IS NOT AN INDUSTRY STANDARD SOFTWARE ANYMORE
I have been with Profile since inception in 1995 when it was Greenpoint, I actually beta tested the software for Cameron Peters way back when.
The past 3 - 4 years have been a HUGE decline in product and services, I truly believe they are not in it to be business use software. The issues are having are ridiculous and the time frame to fix them is unacceptable, I am sure if it was a Turbo Tax it would be done immediately. I can't Print without HUGE delays, I can't do PDF's inside the software, I have to use Adobe, and them do a snapshot and mark it printed, all the manual work I have to do because they MAY fix these issues. The forms we use to review the tax returns are blank, they are making it harder and harder for us to do our job, definitely not easier.
I have stayed with Profile because our whole systems of processing clients are based on templates I have created in the software and I don't know if it will work in other software's, but I am willing to try. I have asked for at least 10 years for more than 2 blank users templates, from a development side this would take about 2 minutes, add another blank sheet and call it User3, but they refuse to add more blank templates for me, so we use the label templates and others instead, and we all have to have different settings for different templates, it is really frustrating for such a simple programing task.
SO this year they are now in the business of doing taxes on line with our clients. They headhunted our tax preparers to work for them on line this year. They are doing ZOOM calls with clients and advising them on how to prepare their taxes with Turbo Tax for $79.99 or they will prepare the return with the client for $99.99.
There is NO advantage for Profile to make it easier for us to do tax returns, they want all our client to move to doing their returns on line with their staff and Turbo Tax.
