Is family linking and transfer working?

Family consisting of husband and wife and three three children

When I prepared 2020 returns last year, two children had tuition fees. I prepared returns for them, and tuition fees automatically transferred to one of the parents. When I would open the parents; data file the childrens' files would automatically open. Ctl+Q would close all returns.

For 2021 I have prepared all returns. Third child now also has tuition fees. Tuition fees are not automatically transferring to the parents. Ctl+Q does not work. It appears that the returns are not linked so transfers are not taking place.

Also Ctl+Q no longer works for the 2020 returns either. They are no longer linked

Questions:

Is there a known problem with transfers?

Or, does this feature no longer work?

Or, is there a tick box that is new and that I have missed?

Hi Larry,

Yes, it's working-I've already used it several times to transfer tuition fees from children to their parents.

Please check Options/Module/General/Calculations Options--is the "Family Linking" box checked? Mine was originally checked, but got unchecked by itself on two occasions (and the "Complete Maximum OAS" box was checked, even though I had never checked it).

That was exactly what I needed thank you

I do not know if that option has ever been there to tick or untick in the past, but it was indeed unchosen when I checked.

Ticking that box has solved my difficulty
