Why won't ProSeries Professional 2025 launch once installed on Windows 11 computer?

I installed 2025 ProSeries Professional on my new Windows 11 computer and it will not launch.  The 2025 program is working fine on my Windows 10 computer.  Intuit customer service was no help and they have not called me back since I called two days ago.  I was on the phone with customer service for over 2 hours.  Anyone having this issue also?  I was able to install/launch years 2020-2023 with no problem.  I also tried installing/launching 2024 on my new computer and that year is having problems too.

@Kathi_at_Intuit  can we get an engineer tagged for this one?   This was a FB group posting I asked them to post over here.

This customer has already gone through over 2 hours with support and tried everything I can think of to fix this.

Somewhere within the update from 1-22-26 to 1-27-26 it appears that there was an interuption with the C++ within the Windows 11 platform during the installation of the updates that occurred that weekend. The C++ issue was not there until for sure Monday/Tuesday of this week. One of the respondants indicated a re-installtion of Windows 11 and a re-installation of the 2025 Pro Series - which indicated that there was a bad call via C++ within the updated product. Additional product testing did not appear to catch the issue and the result was hours on the phone with support personnel from the community. This was the first time in 35 years of using Pro-Series that this issue occured - however, it apparently did not fully test correctly. (For what it's worth from a retired IT guy working PC's and Main Frames.) Now, I'm working from home and one of the support personnel finally grew frustrated and advised me to contact my IT department. Very sweet support person - but the issue within the C++ on Windows 11 could have been avoided and made life much easier.

I know I have seen issues where a window opens but is unseen and that causes the issue. AI offers: To move an off-screen window on Windows, use Alt+Tab to select it, then press Alt+Spacebar, then M, and use the arrow keys to drag it into view, or use Shift + Right-Click on the taskbar icon and select Move.

This worked for us. We did the Manual VC++ Redist Install. The one that I think needed the repair is the X64, however, do the repair for both.

No.  My IT person had to re-install Windows 11 and then back-up/transfer all my files from my hard drive.  He tried all the other suggestions in the responses but nothing was working.  He said it is working and launching now but I need to pick it up from his office tomorrow to make sure.  So much time spent with Intuit over the phone and it came down to this.  Originally, I upgraded to Windows 11 back in January 2025 and it wasn't until I downloaded ProSeries 2025 did I start to have problems with the tax software program.

See my latest updates. The issue was an update to the C++ programming within Windows 11. It appears that it may have drifted from the ProSeries 2024 and 2025 programs. I've been able to correctly use both years without issue and they are correctly filing returns electronically and getting updates from the IRS server(s) as well.

Good Luck!

I have 2025 instaulled on Windows 11 there are bugs but it does open after four reinstalations. Try to uninsual and reinstaul it. Customer service is a waste of time, I spent 8 hours with them on the phone today. 6 different agents and noone had any knowledge of 2025 software. What a JOKE!!!

My computer froze with a Bit Lock. I got past that on Friday but now I am not able to get 2025 ProSeries to move forward to the login screen. I have reinstalled the file several times. What do I do now?

2025 Proseries isn't compatible yet with Windows 11. I spent a day talking to customer service who were not much help and then just tried reinstuling it a few times until the kinks seemed to fix themselves.

The 2025 is badddddddd so have patience.
