Question

Why doesn't ProSeries pull over all prior year Tax forms on the Documents to Send to Preparer or Link requests?

Why does ProSeries not pull forward Forms 1099-SA, Form 1098 and a variety of other tax forms which have been entered in the prior year tax return? These are applicable from one year to the next and should carry over along with the W-2's and 1099's. They should carry to the "Documents to Send to Preparer" on the Paper Organizer or to Link in the Document Requests.

We all agree.  Certain "misses" are so obvious that you wonder who at Intuit really looks at the program from a practical viewpoint.

This program could be significantly improved if they listened to us tax preparers who are using it. I feel like the program is being designed only by IT software engineers that have no experience actually working on returns. There are so many time saving features that could be added which would be really useful, but instead they focus all their attention promoting add ons that pad Intuit's bottom line.

Hello,

Are we able to edit this form (Documents to Send to Preparer) in Proseries Professional?

I have searched and read many threads but have not found guidance.

I tried to use the "Client Checklist" instead; however, I am not able to edit or customize several fields on this form (of course the fields that need changed) in Proseries Professional 2025 either.

Very frustrating!

Any work-arounds or solutions found?

Thank you!

The best work around that I found was to switch to Ultratax. Just about everything that I've been complaining about in ProSeries, it does beautifully.

The one that our office probably needs the most to do that (with the RED 'I need something') attention grabber is the Social Security worksheet. The recipients of those 1099-SSAs are the most prone to forget them. Which makes us, the most prone to overlook also, especially if it's in the early years of receiving Social Security benefits.
