Why does ProSeries Run Like **bleep** on RightWorks

Using RightWorks it appears ProSeries does not remember any updates and constantly stalls and runs at a snail pace. We must open the program, download "updates" once again and of course most of them fail because they have not been released yet. Then attempt to open a client and we have to wait 5+ minutes for the client to even open. Sometimes the client never loads and ProSeries crashes so we have to start all over.

I understand Rightworks is a separate service, but Intuit recommends using them and they are partners on this. Can someone explain or provide a better solution than this TRASH software/hosted environment. We cannot run a business with programs from the 90s.

You can try calling support but my guess is ProSeries will say it is a RightWorks issue and RightWorks will say it is a ProSeries problem.

My firm is having the same issues too. ProSeries 2025 is slow to open just like 2024 was until about a month ago, have to always start with Tools - Connected Customer update which sometimes fixes it, but the last two days I've had to follow up with a Repair Update.

These issues have been a daily occurrence since I started looking over the software last week, and is only exacerbated now that tax season has started. I too am using this in Rightworks, I don't seem to have a problem with the stand alone version I installed directly on my desktop.

We have 10 users, all reporting the same issues.

While I appreciate the suggestion to call ProSeries support, what they followed up with is also true. They will blame Rightworks and Rightworks will blame ProSeries. I do not see the point in spending an hour or more on the phone when the first level of tech support won't be able to do anything.

Please Intuit, fix your software. Work with Rightworks to ensure it's right. Most importantly, test this stuff yourself.

We also use RightWorks and seeing the same problems: ProSeries needing to redownload updates, runs extremely slow, and hangs or crashes when opening clients.

The desktop install doesn't do this so it’s definitely a  ProSeries–RightWorks interaction issue. ProSeries got RightWorks feeling more like WrongWorks.

Hi @Taxhunter1 ,

Thanks for posting your question! Here's a support article that should help with this:

I appreciate the time spent in reviewing and sending a possible solution, however the internet connection isn't the issue, at least for me.

The issue I described is specifically for 2025. 2014-2024 do not behave like this. Honestly, 2024 was acting like this up until a month or two ago.

The issue is the loading of the program and the errors, none of which are internet related. However if necessary I will prove it with ping test as described in the linked article.
