I am looking for the MAGI as the cost of medicare depends on how high the MAGI is.  I believe it includes the social security taxable income, not the 15% that's excluded.

As far as I know, ProSeries does not show that because it is not a tax calculation.

However, according to the Social Security website, it is just AGI plus tax-exempt interest.  The non-taxable Social Security doesn't seem to affect it.

MAGI for Passive Losses (you mentioned 8582, but didn't seem happy with what you are seeing for that)?  Or MAGI for some other purpose?

There are MANY different versions of MAGI, depending on what you are referring to, so you need to clarify for you are looking for.

For the 8582 look at the instructions for that line to see how it is calculated.

For any other form, look at that form's instructions.

The more I know the more I don’t know.
