Question

When will ProSeries support electronic filing for Ohio business returns—Forms IT 1140, IT 4708, and IT 4738—as well as RITA Form 27?

The inability to electronically file these returns creates a significant obstacle for Ohio tax professionals trying to operate efficiently and remain competitive. Mailing returns adds unnecessary processing time, administrative work, tracking concerns, and the risk of delays or lost filings.

I have been a loyal ProSeries user and would prefer not to change software. However, this limitation has become significant enough that I have started discussions with other tax software providers.

Can Intuit please confirm whether electronic filing for these Ohio and RITA returns is on the ProSeries development roadmap and, if so, provide an anticipated implementation date? I suspect many Ohio practitioners would consider this a high-priority improvement.

How do you get RITA Form 27, Net Profits to populate. is that part of an add on program.  I have powertax library but do not see Form 27 under the Ohio module

Thank you for sharing your feedback with the Community! There is already an existing Idea Exchange post regarding e-filing for RITA and Ohio Form 4738.

I recommend visiting the post, adding a comment with the additional Ohio forms you’d like to see supported and cast your vote:

Add E-filing for city tax returns (primarily RITA Ohio) and Ohio pass-through entity tax return (Form 4738)
