Question

What will happen to a NYS tax return that is being sent to the state through intuit?

I have first a question and then a statement.  My question is: Does any one or INTUIT know what's going to happen to a NYS return after efiling and it states sending it to the state?   Will it actually someday be accepted? OR will it stay in limbo and be lost not received?

STATEMENT:

I am quite sure I am going to cancel my auto renewal of this program for next year and shop around for a more informative caring company.  One that ATLEAST keeps us informed of what's going on and the actual truth of why etc... I believe us, preparers, would not be considering switching if INTUIT would have come on here and filled us in and was honest to us . If they are the reason, they should tell us why and when they plan on fixing the problem. (we all make mistakes some time in our life)   If it's the state's issue then it would be easier for them to come on here and state that. I can't understand WHY they haven't announced to us all what the issue really is!

Also It's like "Theft of Service", when they disabled the printing of New York State returns!  They sold us this program including the states, and then removed part of what they sold us!   That term stated above is a real legal term.  They are braking our contract and took our money ahead of time offering us this then removing it without notice!   We should all be compensated for the extra work and time IF it is thier issue.   I just want the FACTS and I think INTUIT could give them to us.

Once its been "Sent to state", now you're on the state's timeline for acceptance.

Intuit did their job by submitting it to the state, the same way the post office delivers a paper return.

I'm just curious how your client was able to approve submitting the return.  Do you have a second monitor for the client to view the return on your computer before they signed the 8879?  Or do you have some other method to jump through that hoop?

In my office with the monitor in front of me and him. PLUS an altered TR-579-IT from 2024 with the year changed and the lines 1-5 changed to reflect 2025's income taxes and the bank accounts the same .   they are terminal and are afraid to wait.. time is of essence with them.    I haven't done it for anyone else... this was a totally different situation being in his situation.
