Anyone else seeing this message multiple times for the past few days? 

"Please retry after some time. If the problem persists, reach out to our customer support"

I just figured out why this happens!   While the software is downloading background updates,we get this message!

It was just by chance that I noticed this since Intuit has that updates window set to be hidden in the Windows systray while its doing it!

So if this just happened, you probably need to restart the software, since an update was probably just recently downloaded and to install it you have to restart!
