I have had two clients receive adjustments for 2024 and now 2025. Anyone else having this problem?

What were the gross and taxable amounts on the 1040, and what filing status?  There have been posts about some box being checked during data entry, that should not have been checked.

As Bob said.. there is a box.. that if you check in error it will make it all non-taxable.. The box is NOT the box on the very top of the 1099SSA input screen.. It is the series of two boxes below that top box. Do not check those boxes. .

The only time we’ve seen reports of this, it was due to preparer data entry error and somehow checked the box at the top of the SSA worksheet that says the taxpayer or spouse is a resident of a different country, which makes it non-taxable.

FWIW I always look the 2 year comparison when I’m finished with the return,  just to make sure nothing looks “off” from the year before, even new clients I take the few  extra minutes and enter their prior year figures in the 2 year comparison.

@Just-Lisa-Now-  is saying, “look at the return and ask yourself if it makes sense.”  Is AGI $60,000 but Social Security is nontaxable?  When 85% of it was taxed on last year’s return?  When all else fails, use strings as reminders.
